Just Flight/Aeroplane Heaven Spitfire Mk.I upgrade

I've just submitted this lot. It's a bit of a dog's breakfast, because I can not include the model - so you'll have to do a bit of work yourselves.

There's a series of new flight dynamics by Rene, reflecting the 3 different engines or set-ups used, Merlin Mk.III, Merlin Mk.III cleared for 12 lbs boost, and Merlin Mk. XII.

And a load of new skins, as usual.

Looks like you did a very professional job as usual. Too bad I never felt inclined to spend $30 on acquiring these to properly check them out.

Wow, good skins seem to make the whole model a lot better . Someone gave me the JF disc a few years ago - Englishmaninnz - remember him?

Nice Nigel! I was wondering if you had bump mapped them; good to see that you have! These will be good in Clive's BoB update. Later I hope to get around to redoing some of my missions for that with these aircraft and making F.C. versions of the BoB era ac, so that sdsbolt's cheat engine app can be used for fighter control.

EDIT: I don't have the AH/JF install in my PC now but have , I thought, all the aircraft in other installs. I only find a JF Mk Ia and Ib (In fact I don't know where this Ib came from/), so was there in fact a Mk1 and MkIIa version? If so. I'll have to dig around in my old XL PC!

I didn't even remember I had made flight models for these, it's been that long.

But, as I often do, I'd like to remind people of the boost gauge reading incorrectly, especially noticable at the +12 lbs variants - CFS3 can't model the diminishing efficiency as the boost is increased so it's a matter of choosing incorrect readings or incorrect power, and I go for incorrect readings 100% of the time. The engine produces the correct power at both full throttle and emergency power, but only the full throttle boost reading is what it should be.

Assuming the changing of the _t.dds and _s.dds files in the m3d folder rely on the same length file names(s), there seems to be an issue if the incorrect JF version is chosen.

There seem to be different versions of JF_spitfire_1a in my installs

    1. My JF_spit_MKIA folder has skin dds files such as
dwespit1_t.dds or QVKspit1_t.dds while the replacement ones are Spitfire_I_DW-K_t.dds or of similar length.
Also in my JF_spit_MKIA folder I have a whole host of dds files such as dwespit2_t.dds which are mentioned in the JF_spit_MKIA_DWE.M3D but AFAIK aren't needed in the repaint AH2_Spitfire_MkI-12_DW-K.M3D as the newt.dds files already cover what is in dwespit2_t.dds for instance.

1a. These versions above of JF_spit_MKIA seem to come from a folder with all Clive's Aussiex Solomons_ETO_dev folder.

    2. On the other hand, my JF_spitfire_1a_19 and JF_spitfire_1a_610 folders seem to have t and s dds file name lengths compatible with the lengths of the new textures. So these are the ones to use!

3.Now the only JF_spit_MKIB folders I have are also from Clive's Aussiex Solomons_ETO_dev folder, so I am not sure that those m3d files should be used, meaning the only JF models I see compatible are JF_spitfire_1a_19 and or JF_spitfire_1a_610!

After looking through all my different Spitfire models I finally discovered one that has the same texture layout as these, ETO / BoB_Spit_MkIb, so it looks like I'm in business after all. (at least for the ones with cannons)
