    What did I do?

I think I mentioned a month or so ago that I was planning building a new flight simulator (MSFS, P3D, & DCS) computer. Around every five years I get the itch to build a new computer. By then the software has eaten any hardware advantage I may have had. So, I build a new one and the old flight sim computer becomes my everyday computer. Well, the parts all came in and yesterday I put it together. I don't know what I did wrong, but...the darn thing fired right up and Windows 10 installed on the the new M2 drive without a problem.

I have built over two dozen PCs. I can't remember, with the exception of early DOS and maybe a Win 95, any computer just working. It goes against the laws of physics, psychology, and possibly theology for a new build to work without some twilling, praying, and cussing (at least for me) before it does its thing. Windows can especially be hard to load. It always seem to not like your drive for some reason known only to the software gods, who are laughing at a mere mortal trying to figure out the complexities, abstruseness, and idiosyncrasies that are Windows 10.

I ran it all night while it downloaded MSFS. It is currently downloaded loading all the DCS Mods from Eagle Dynamics. Tomorrow I will probably start loading P3D on the system, provided the other two work when I try them. Then it is on to tweaking the performance until I screw something up. Then I back-up a bit.

There are mysterys' in the world where we have as little chance of understanding, as an ant has of understanding us. All you can do is accept them and realize that there are some things, better left unknown..

Not only are you a flight dynamics engineer, you are a philosopher too. Well said, my friend.

You built it all wrong. I suggest taking it apart and starting over. That has to be a mistake. LOL

You may be right. I have MSFS, P3D V5 and DCS all working at the moment. I keep waiting for something to break.
