    Graphics!

While getting hold of a decent 3*** series GPU has become a lengthy waiting game (money up front and you're on the list) it at least gives one a chance to look them over.
While I generally prefer NVIDIA there are a few RAEDON offerings that caught my attention.

And despite my general irritation with ASUS/ROG products I'm highly tempted by this pretty potent piece of kit.
Even at $A3569.00 it has all the grunt I can use and it is Crossfire capable.

I tend to live life on the edge but her indoors might push me over it if/when I try to smuggle a pair of these past her sensors!
Then again, only the good die young so I'll get away with just a few new scars......

    And FTR:The ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 3090 OC 24GB White graphics card features a 1860MHz boost clock (gaming mode), 1890MHz boost clock (OC mode), 24GB GDDR6X 384-bit memory interface, 19.5GB/s memory speed, PCI-E 4.0, 2 x HDMI 2.1, 3 x DisplayPort 1.4a…
I can wait, my dual 2080tis in SLI run most of my needs well enough, but there's always the need for more grunt!

Indeed, in my favourite shop, the only RTX 3xxx cards to be found is the RTX3060, and I would love that RTX3080! But: "not in stock, delivery unknown"...

@Wombat666: that is an RTX3090 I guess? Judging by the price anyway!

    Oh well!

    Indeed it is Jan.

My usual supplier is doing a sterling job of keeping us up to speed and doing whatever is possible.
Unfortunately the do not have access to certain back door deals that are causing the real supply chain problems.
I'm not that concerned as I'm not looking at trying to get hold of anything just yet, but if I had the opportunity I'd jump on this one like a Seagull on a piece of hot fat!

I picked up my Evga GTX 1080 after the last crypto boom/bust in 2018 for retail $500 right when the RTX 2080/2070 released. The 1080 was available, where as the 2070 wasn’t, and the 2070 was selling for the same price for only a small increase in performance.

For this paper GPU release/Crypto boom, the biggest increase in performance I have found was dropping in a R5 5600X in place of my “old” R7 2700X. The 1080 is still kicking it, though it is the “weak” point in my build.

June? I can live with that! My RTX2080Super will hold until then!

On Nvidia.com it says "delayed indefinitely because of supply issue"

I guess most will be bought by Elon Musk!

I would ask, what do you gain with this card in FS2020 performance? I'm running full ultra with an RTX 2080S with high fps on a 5120 x 1440 display. While a 3080 is a nice tech jump, I am not certain it would improve my flightsim experience.
Be yourself. Everyone else is already taken.

Indeed there's not so much need for improvements when flying in 2D.
However, for those of us who fly in VR, the situation is completely different, especially when using a G2.

In my case it's not just an MSFS booster Daube, rendering very large RAW (Photographic) files draws heavily on my system, some of my shots can start off at 200+GB.

I discovered that crypto currency miners are buying these up. I have a coworker that built a rig with six graphics cards to do that job.

Between unprecedented demand due to people stuck at home and the crypto-currency boom and a severe shortage of semi-conductors, expect availability of video cards to be very limited. Estimates now put the video card shortage as extending to the third quarter of 2021. Even car companies are slowing production of new cars due to the lack of semiconductors.
