OT...But You Got To Read THIS

I got this email from my cousin and did a goofle on it so I could post this here. This is amazeing find ! !

Russian/German tank recovered from a lake after 62 years

After the tank surfaced, it turned out to be a trophy tank, that had been captured by the German army in the course of the battle at Sinimaed (Blue Hills) about six weeks before it was sunk in the lake. Altogether, 116 shells were found on board. Remarkably, the tank was in good condition, with no rust, and all systems (except the engine) in working condition

We have in Finland lots of lakes and it's been said that there are probably many Russian aircrafts in the lakes, because after crash landing on the ice, the ice has melted in spring and the aircrafts have sunk in to the lakes.

Also I remember something about aircrafts that were stored on ice during the war. But their fuel reserves emptied and ice melted before they were able to get those aircrafts safe.

    Interesting...

I would be curious to see what is at the bottom of so many lakes in the EU.

I've watched several episodes of a program on one of the military history channels called "Tank Overhaul." They featured a Panther in one episode that had sunk in a river in Poland. It was in terrible shape -- I think they even had to recreate the turret, but these guys did amazing work. They work out of some shop in Utah, I think. Just an FYI if you're into that sort of thing... :focus:

I was once swimming in one lake. When I dived under the surface, the visibility was no good and all of a sudden there is an old carriage in front of me, that was quite a surprise.
