    MAW-1943 Question

When installing MAW-1943, do you need a "Clean Copy" of CFS3 for the Installation? The Install instructions do not mention needing a un-modded copy of CFS3, only to copy cfs3.exe and cfs3config.exe and multicfs3.exe to your install folder, and to create an install folder for MAW-1943 on your HD and name it whatever to extract the files into I think. Thanks for any help on this.

    Hi Steven KLein,

While it is not strictly essential to use a clean patched version (patches available here via the sticky thread on CFS3 patches and sdks) of stock CFS3, the number of permutations and combinations go up rapidly if you try and install over a modified install of CFS3. Hence trouble-shooting gets more difficult.

If you install over some modified stock version of CFS3, the less modification means the easier it would be to troubleshoot any problems. Keep us posted as to how you get on! NB in this day and age of plentiful storage, it is always a good idea to keep a stock, fully patched version of CFS3 somewhere so you can compare files in you modified install with files in the original.
