Thread: Screenshots P3D V 5

Those shots look great. I highly recommend john test it with his B-25 developments. Just to make sure it looks right in the more realistic lighting, of course. Also, it would be great to some shots of Mike's (FR) B-24 in this as well, if he's OK with it.

BTW, Snurdley, thank you so much for all of the repaints you've been releasing over the last few months! I've been getting so much enjoyment out of the restored Mosquito and Thunderbolt schemes especially.
Thank you John, very glad that you like them. I still enjoy your Mustangs very much and the Mitchell is something I've been hoping for a long, long time.

It does look like there may be some depth of field going on. Competition is a good thing I am a bit on the fence about getting v5 but yours and Noddy's screen shots will probably push me over the edge. I plan on keeping P3D even when FS2020 comes out.

Here you go, Sundog. All in v5, with UK2000 Exeter scenery which also works just fine. Have had to modify the spec and alphas on some 'bare metal' textures, and will continue to look at those, but basically that's it.

Just so that no one gets the wrong impression, all of my screenshots feature some form of ORBX scenery. The default trees in P3D especially still look awful (neon green), and I couldn't replace those fast enough (I use the ORBX trees addon). The new P3Dv5 default vector scenery, however, is better and more up-to-date than what ORBX offers, and thus if you own ORBX Global Vector, it is not provided in ORBX Central any longer if you are installing to P3Dv5, since you're already better off without it by default. The world-wide roads, railways, lakes, rivers, streams, coastlines, electrical grid, cell towers, etc. are all more expansive and up to date than what has been provided with the ORBX Vector product - I've noticed in my own local cities, quite a bit more roads and a lot more electrical towers, cell towers, etc., and all of the default airports I've been to have been improved and in some cases there are a lot more airport hangars/structures present now to better match reality. However, I still found the need to install the ORBX Global textures and Open LC landclass & textures, the various ORBX regions & airports, and the ORBX True Earth Great Britain sceneries (all of which looks even better now).

I will say that I had been using all of the various forms of REX sky/clouds/water products for a great many years now, but now I'm not using any of it, as I find it fantastic as is, just default, using the P3Dv5 Enhanced Atmospherics.

IMHO I'd say yes, just for the range of country specific and airfield specific additions.

All v5 pics look superb instead of the ocean water - waves are too big and blurry to my opinion. How is this inside the sim? Maybe on shots it appears a little different...
    Best regards, Manfred.
