Sometime True Sky can look a bit weird I wonder if there is fix or patch coming to correct this cubing line affect.

Yeah I know LM's don't ask and we don't tell policy!
CAF CF-104 104763, painted as a special to commemorate the end of Starfighter operations with No. 417 Sqdn in 1982. In v5.1, modified for PBR, on my lovely new rig with most sliders full right!

Is that the SSW F-104? Been flying nothing but it lately. If so interested in how you added the PBR.
Striker, listen, and you listen close: flying a plane is no different than riding a bicycle, just a lot harder to put baseball cards in the spokes.
Yes it is. A great airplane, even better now it's a realistic price.
I've been experimenting with PBR since v4.5 was released. I use MCX to modify models to accept PBR textures. Initially it was a way to get rid of the (to me) unsightly blue canopy glass on port-over models, and to get a more realistic metallic appearance for natural metal skins. To be honest, the latter is a disappointment for me. The SSW Starfighter isn't too bad and I've had decent results with the Airplane Factory/A2A P-51H and the FR B-24J. But when I saw what Bomber_12th has managed with his Mitchell in FSX I thought WTF, I'm wasting my time!!
PBR works best with paint IMHO; realistic glossiness is what it does best, and then only in P3Dv5.1, as evidenced above and elsewhere in this thread.
P-51H, 197th FS Arizona ANG. Called the Copperheads, they painted the spinner and tips in copper paint. Shows up nicely in PBR but metal's a bit dull in this one.
Stores are from the Warbirdsim Mustang collection, hard points corrected.

I would agree - the SSW 104 with PBR natural metal paints look distinctly non-reflective, non-metal i.e., dull looking! to my eye. By the way, I have you to thank very much for some of the very few USAF line SSW F-104 paints (SEA and 69th). Wish there were more.Initially it was a way to get rid of the (to me) unsightly blue canopy glass on port-over models, and to get a more realistic metallic appearance for natural metal skins. GAAB - that looks pretty good!
Another sweet little aircraft from Rob.
Be nice if there were a couple of skins for her.

No IRST mounted under the nose, so it's not a B/N model, which is what SWS released, but rather the J. So that'd be either the MILVIZ J/S or the J/S model from the old/recently revived AS/Virtavia full-range model pack. Gauging from the canopy having the same tint as Expat's USAF F-4D screenshot earlier, which I know is the AS/V model, I'm guessing the VF-164 screenshot is the AS/V J model.
Plus I know he (like me) is a big fan of the AS/V model in it's newly reincarnated form.
That's just my guess.

And a good guess it is! Can't get over how this old model looks with PBR and other - continuing - upgrades. That's just my guess.
