Yorktown Class Carriers in WWII

I have many of Yanco’s ships and they are very good, but you compare them to Klaus's new ones and quality wise they are just not up to the same standard.

Looking back on the body of work Klaus has created, the only significant USN ww2 carrier missing is Wasp (CV-7)

Butcherbird17, those sims and Worcester models look great, hopefully it won't take too much work to convert them to FSX and release them.

Unfortunately I couldn't find any DD's of the propper class to use. All 5 in the TF at this point were Simms class.

Did convertions to fsx for a little package with WWII US destroyers ready for upload. Will come till this weekend.

For the near future i`ve not planed to do those ships.... but i think CIMOGT would be the right one to place this question. As i can see, he is doing all the new carriers.


But one thing that will come in nearest future ....... the Victory ships in different outfits.







Will do some other variants too. Perhaps they will come together with the destroyers this weekend.

I understand your interest in the Victory Ships as well. Is there any way you could be persuaded to do some heavy and / or light cruisers? in advance once again a big Thank you for all these pretty ships. I´ve downloaded them a few minutes ago. To get a first impression I´ve loaded them into the Model Converter tool...

Could it be that some textures are missing (train and boats textures) in the different ship models ? See the picture:

Do I have to make one? Same question for the other ships that were included with the liberty ship.

Klaus, Thanks so much for these wonderful ships. I have one question, in these new packages several of the ships seam to be duplicates of ships that were released in earlier packages, specifically these ships:

USS_CL-20_Marblehead_1919
USS_CL-23_Albany_1919
USS_CL-4_Omaha_1930
USS_DD-449_Nicolas_1942

I have spent some time adding wakes to them using ModelConvertX and if they have not been modified I will keep the previous versions but if they have been updated I will replace them.

They are duplicates so no need to use them if you have already added effects to the ones from the earlier packages.

If you want to make AICarriers .cfg files, I wrote what I consider a fairly useful "How-To".
It's in the Warbirds forum, the thread is The USS Ranger Update. It might help you a little. You can create formations of one to "many" ships (I don't know the limit to "many" but can ask if you like) with it to select off the AICarriers menu.
