OT: Who is Ivan, and why is he editing my posts?

Just curious. I have noticed a few times lately that after posting, it says "Last edited by Ivan."

    What gives?

Apparently it's a snag caused by The Great Database Disaster... If you post the same post number that somebody else edited in the past, you get their edit notification.

Check the dates of the "edits"... The time machine is a very useful tool! :costumes:

It is a problem which keeps us busy already for quite sometime.

Somehow there still seems to be a link to the register in which the edits were registered. So when the original post 12345 was edited. The new post 12345 automatically recieves the comment the post was edited.

All counters have been reset and all related tables were emptied, but still the problem remains.

Nothing to really worry about, but is is just a bit annoying.

In 'Red October' it was referred to as the Soviet submariners' method of 'checking six'...by suddenly flipping a U-turn in a Boomer or Hunter class submarine...

I hope Gnoopy isnt lurking.... don't wanna think about what that might be a reference to...
