Simply amazing:
Making an AI plane trap on a moving carrier in FSX/P3D was hard, not impossible. Impossible is taking a break on holidays! Our carrier tech has provided us with what was missing, so now we can show you this AI A-7 landing on our Coral Sea carrier! Disclaimer: this is a prototype AI development for a future product.
Visit our page on http://simworksstudios.com/ to find the Carriers Extended! SDK and see more info on our products and technology. Finally, our products are on a 25% discount until January 7th, so grab them before the price goes up!

Very impressive!!! I never knew the A-7 was that smokey though...
For us (FS) naval aviator types, this has to be one of the more significant developments in years.
Striker, listen, and you listen close: flying a plane is no different than riding a bicycle, just a lot harder to put baseball cards in the spokes.
Truly awesome Alex, the little details are amazing.
Very grateful at this development. Can't wait to have AI A-6s, EA-6Bs and A-3s fly around with me... and at some future point maybe EA-18Gs and F/A-18s please?
Thank you guys! We are working like crazy to improve the carrier ops environment in FSX/P3D. With the Nimitz package we're hoping to bring things one more step forward.

Can you tell me what time period are you developing the "Nimitz" package for...?
Do you for-see applying your extended carrier type technology to your support vessels..?
It seems with your advanced development animations you can and are taking flight sim naval operations to new levels....
The Nimitz will be in one of its modern, post-2005 versions.
Our tech is applicable to any vessel. I.e. you can animate a destroyer's hangar, weapons and anything else you like right now. We have an SDK for shipbuilders that they can use to make their vessels compatible.
We are also testing the next update of our carriers that will allow placement of formations that actually turn in formation (standard or corpen) and other things that I shouldn't write right now. Think of TacPack and AI Carriers combined, then add some virtual captains & wheelmen in these ships, providing positional awareness.
As for AI aircraft/ships/other stuff, we are hardly making out the tip of the iceberg.

I echo JosefK's comment that Naval Aviation fans are excited about SWS creations.
Most definitely! NC
I tried the SDK link but the page has no information...?

This will work with any tailhook-equipped airplane.
The only modification that "may" be needed is the hook-wire alignment, done through our Aircraft Configuration App. This ensures that the visual effect of pulling the cable will be at the hook, not in the fuselage or anywhere else. We already have presets for a bunch of good payware and freeware aircraft, so for these you don't have to touch anything. The list is here: http://simworksstudios.com/forum/index.php?topic=786.0. This list is going to expand as we get our hands on them or as you make presets and provide us with them.
AI Aircraft would be better suited, though, and we're thinking of introducing them with this package. We are working on the full cycle of launch-fly-trap-taxi, so if you want a deck with 70 dynamic aircraft instead of statics, you can't have them all being RAZBAM A-7s or VRS Hornets.

What I, personally, would love to see is a 1980s era flight deck populated dynamically populated with (obviously ZERO Hornets) at least one RA-5C, several A-7Es, some F-4Js, A-6s, one Hawkeye, a Sea King helo.
My dream would be to see the USS Independence CV-62 in simulation. For me, the flight deck would resemble when I was aboard during Operation Urgent Fury (attack on Grenada), and the subsequent attack on Lebanon. VF-32 & 14, VA-176, VA-15 & 87, VAW-122, VS-28, HS-15, and VAQ-131. The CAG did not have a Vigilante squadron....I just thought they were awesome aircraft!
Just reminiscing! NC
The SDK recovery will be completed this weekend. We've already recovered and updated most information in there, all that's left are the modeling guidelines. All of the stuff that's in there is coming with the next update, which will also include our Ship placer (think of AI Carriers with improved functionality), vLSO integration, a warp-to-deck feature and the ability to save a flight on a carrier and (apparently) load it with the carrier being where it's supposed to.
As for Chester, he is growing fast. The superstructure is almost done and the big structures of the starboard side are also moving quickly. We'll beat Newport News before they do the JFK. :P
