    New Additions

    Hi

These are the latest two additions to my fleet for FSX. Converted using model converter X and FS Panel studio. The cockpits are not entirely authentic but please me.
Flight characteristics modified slightly where applicable. Weapons are tagged to load stations for visibility.

I remember that one from way back, lol. Always liked the looks of it, but it was lost in one of several Virus/fried motherboard/damaged HDD, etc., etc. (choose one). . .but I may still have the liveries I did for it. Would love to get it if it's available.

    Hi Folks

Sorry to disappoint you all, but the models are composites from several sources in my hanger. I have none of the copyrights or permissions to upload any of them. So they exist on my machine only and unfortunately that is were they will remain. I wouldn't even know how to begin to get any approvals to publish them and not sure the original authors would want me to.
Sorry if this seems like teasing but was just trying to improve my experience and have some fun.

I'd know that Spitfire VC anywhere! Thanks for the reminder about the Whirlwind - I still have the old CWDT version bought for FS9 in 2007 - and it's still listed at Simmarket for around 16 Euros. For some reason it restricts the display to the top 3/4 of the screen (FSX SE / DX10) but it has a nice range of models & liveries if I can get it to work.

    Hello Padburgess,

I too had bought the CWDT Whirlwind, but could not make it work in FSX!
Too bad because it's a plane that I love !!

If this is the same how did you manage to be able to integrate in FSX and make it compatible mdl?
    Can you make a tutorial?
    Thank you!
    cordially

Regarding the half screen display.. look in the panel.cfg under window=00 for the line.. render_3d_window=1

If it says =1 and the panel displays half screen, change it to =0 (or vice versa)

Thank you - that did the trick but unfortunately it revealed a shimmering black shape obcuring most of the gauges - I can see now why the OP swapped VCs!

    Hi Alain

The process is just as explained in the tutorial on Outhouse about converting FS9 to FSX. Lots of playing around and trial and error getting the animations to work. Not all do but enough to make the result enjoyable. As for how I integrate the cockpits, sorry I won't be specific as I believe that telling someone how to modify a file violates the original copyright, but you are correct in that I have used the WOP Spitfire 1 cockpit. With some local colour, pushing a few buttons and clicking a few keys, voila the necessary bits of it fit into a conveniently hollowed out carcass of the airplane. Then exported as a vc file. If you have used ModelConverterX before then perhaps you could have a play.

The Welkin was a surprise find last week and has the same cockpit now as the Whirlwind. Not true I know but works fine and looks fine. Surprisingly the FDE for it is very good and I have done nothing to it as far as flight characteristics are concerned.

    Regards
    Paul

    Hello

Someone happened to remove this black square in the virtual cockpit that hides the instruments?
    Thank you!!
