You got a PM!
Just in time for the end of the month I'd like to share an update for the Christmas 2023 preview of the P-47.
The prime motivator for this was the piece of cowl flap webbing that got misplaced on...
Thanks! That was (I think) the final thing I needed for the P-47 update!
I am reviewing some aircraft light effects in ETO and I seem to be missing the following one in my effects.xml:
ac_Light_tail_reflected
Could anyone help me to this? Much appreciated!
...
Ah, a new airfield - I like!! :encouragement:
I do have some unfinished Square Mesh Tracking texture files that I could send over, if you want. You could use that to texture a runway plane in...
I need to think this over and experiment a bit - maybe the metal export problems arise from my use of shaders (and their settings) in combination with the _s and _r textures.
What I did was...
Ah, so that is it!
I had these diffuse materials unticked and set to '0' in gmax but apparently that doesn't work (I just found a thread that it is possible to remove a map in 3DS Max but not...
I am not sure we are seeing the same in CFS3: Your gauges' glass and canopy perpex in the screenies is transparent while mine is opaque during the night unless I edit it in the .m3d file which...
I really have no idea how to do this but I am impressed anyway!! :biggrin-new:
+2! :encouragement:
Much obliged!! :encouragement:
Yep, those two (the Navy and British ones) are the ones I encounter most. Since I textured the sight with a Navy designation, I would go for the one from your piccie.
Don't worry, you'll get another chance with the update that removes the floating web part on the cowling (can't have that, even for the time being) :untroubled:
The present reticle is a remnant of the K-14 that I did for later P-47D models and an oversight of me when I uploaded the model. As the D-25 used the Navy Mk8 gunsight (or the British Mk.II) the...
Here's one for the gmax gurus:
For the past two-three days I have been creating "*_r.dds" texture files to control the reflection/'metalness' of various parts in the cockpit. When I add these to...
Thanks for the effort you're putting into this! So your ambient light is set differently then mine?
Hey, that is very impressive, Andy!! You also got the colours right! :encouragement: Thanks very, very much!!
Did you have a source for this or was the 'daylight' version of my textures enough to...
I'm glad you like it, Scott - it's not bad for a WIP, if I may say so myself :biggrin-new:
(Nice screenie, BTW)
That silky gloss on the black part of the throttle quadrant certainly looks yummy! :encouragement: I'll have to see if I can reproduce that with the textures themselves instead of hexediting the...
I still have to study that part but those are the pretty glowing instruments dials, aren't they? I'll let you know - Thanks for your offer!! :encouragement:
Thanks for letting me know!
There's one kinda important thing that I forgot to mention: The materials are created with Ankor's d3d8.ini set to "EnvReflection=5" and "Glossiness=5". If you have chosen other values for your ETO...
@Rene [using the quote button doesn't give a quote, so I'll do it like this] Oh wow, thank you!! :encouragement:
Re: the TW/door animation; It is correct that the doors move in sync with the tail...
Thanks!
Yes, CFS3 displays the full textures. You may have to set this in the config program. They won't work in the .mos file, though, as pointed out earlier.
Nice one, Clive! :encouragement:
