Gwinn Aircar. I knew it was flying car, but here at work, I don't have access to my books. Looking for it on the web, I found the following neat website:
http://www.roadabletimes.com/
I am...
Thanks. Sure, if you don't mind; that would be great; I've got a set of specs; but they are not detailed. A second source is also always nice to have.
Been digging around the web; the Noorduyn...
Thanks. Oh, and after studying pictures of Fairchild 82s for months; your floaty picture is the first one I've seen that clearly shows that there is cylinderical section right in front of the...
Thanks guys. Only problem with modeling it on floats is that I don't know what kind of floats they used on the 82. It is definitely not the same as the Fairchild P6 floats used by the FC2, FC2W2 and...
Since I mentioned it; here is a screenshot of the Fairchild 82 WIP. (Sorry, the FS2004 computer was busy, so I took it in FS2002.)

34-42 Niska? Apparently, the Ranger engine did not work out, and it was re-engined with a P&W Wasp; and renamed the Model 82D.

P.S. I think I asked once before already; but does anyone...
That looks like a Fairchild 82, but fitted with an inline engine instead of the usual P&W Wasp.
If it is a Fairchild 82, you can have it on floats as well. :jump:

Northrop Gama? Or another one of those stinker look alikes. :jump:

Another mid-engine wonder! But with the propellers/motors at the center of gravity; I wonder how they planned to mount the torpedo(es)?
-James
Interesting. Give it another wing, hang a radial engine in the front, and get rid of that silly nosewheel, and you have the ANEC III

Yes, I noticed in the color picture at the bottom of the link James sent, you can see the angled firewall and the track for the canopy as well.
I said you guys are awesome, and I am sure the...
Thanks Moses; a nice cold drink just when I needed it. :wiggle:
Can I do something a little different? If the answer is no; then I will submit another, and move this picture to a seperate thread....
(Jumps up and down, raising his hand)
I know, I know! The Stout Dragonfly

But lefty said this wasn't French built. So that wasn't it.
P.S. my comment was in jest. I am really enjoying this thread. I used to moan that "all the good planes have already been made for...
Methinks Lefty was trying to get out of having to dig up an ugly, East European twin-boom floatplane that was designed in France.

I sometimes look these up online after one of you tell what it is. This one is a dozy; apparently, it was supposed to have wings of varying chord. Those must be the tracks the wing sections slid on...
I thought those struts looked familiar, then realized they resemble the star-struts on a Hansa-Brandenburg. But if it is French built, than it is not from that firm.
Figured out how to search...
Correct. There was also an ASW version that was even uglier; you might even think it was French built. :wiggle:

Righto. Sorry, I'm James.

Thanks; how about this radiant beauty?
It has been graciously pointed out to me that the plane was used earlier in the thread. If you all don't mind, let me dig in "grooveyard of forgotton favorites," and see what I can find. Stand...
Mumm, good root beer, if a little yellow. :wiggle:
I blew my last chance; let's see how this one does.
Tupolev 77 / Tu-12
Anything that ugly has to be french built.
