Hi Henrik
first I wish a happy new year to you and all other SOH guys...
A new HMS Hermes - whenever ready - would be a great addition. The only available model for FSX (Rem.: ...to my knowledge...) appears to be very "basic"...
When I take in account how many carriers are available or got done for FSX/P3D last year alone you have to look very hard to find one fundamental type of carrier which isnīt done for the sims.
Whenever your "Royal Navy Falkland Task Force" rules the sea... other ships from you could already be detected today in this secluded region...
....here close to Ushuaia (SAWH)

Many greetings RS
The 1987 version of RFA Sir Galahad is almost ready after a small break. It will be released here on SOH within a few days.

Hi Henrik, just a few questions before I download :
1) Does this V2 provide any AI ship traffic around Catalina Island ?
I just downloaded Orbx's Catalina Island and finding it a bit deserted in the harbour and on the waters surrounding this scenery.
2) Also, is V2 all I need to download the entire updated package ?
3) Can I install manually into FSX (SP1&2), as I like to keep track of where things are installed in FSX, and what files belong to what addon, so I can go back if need be, to original setup (highly unlikely, ... but it doesn't hurt to leave all options open) ?
Thank-you, Henrik, for this great AI addon.
Hi
Compared to earlier packages V2 does not really add new traffic around Catalina Island, however it does have additional traffic compared to default.
The Global AI Ship Traffic V2 available on simviation here https://simviation.com/1/search?subm...V2&categoryId= or at flightsimnorway https://www.flightsimnorway.com/down...?pack=aishipsn contains everything previously released and all corrections.
You can manually install the traffic files in FSX scenery add-on folder and declare them there; the ships however should be in the boats folder. However due to naming of files and folders it is actually quite easy to keep track also with the standard installation.
Best regards
Henrik
Next up... The SS Canberra cruise ship from 1961, which also served in the Falklands - many rounded shapes, so it is taking a bit of time to get it right...

Hi Henrik,
Thank-you, for the fast reply.
The only AI ship traffic I currently have is this one :
http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforum...l=1#post956703
which includes Milton Shupe's latest AI version of the HMS Bounty (and a Two Harbours - Avalon route). I assume I can keep this without any problems alongside your program ?
I think your AI ship traffic program also has a version of HMS Bounty ? Can I delete one, if so which one ? Or keep both ?
Last question, to turn all AI ship traffic 'off', I would set the ship/pleasure boat traffic slider in FSX to '0', correct ? , What is the recommended setting to see 'all' ship/boat traffic ? Is it '5' or '10' ? I read somewhere too high settings will cause default FSX ships/boats to appear (which IMHO would be less desirable) ?
Thanks, again for all your help.

Hi
I did not have time to test but the presence of an afcad in the version you have worries me a bit - the routes in the traffic you have could be done FS9 style and then be incompatible. Maybe someone here can confirm compatibility as I will head to work.
The folder names and the entries in the sim.cfg for the two Bounty versions have different names, so you can keep both versions. It is the traffic files which can cause problems and must eventually be removed.
Your ship/boat traffic must be 5 % to have the Global AI Ship Traffic - If you set it higher you will start getting a lot of default traffic, lower and you will have no traffic...
Henrik
Hi Henrik,
Worst case scenario, I will get rid of these files and just keep yours as I'd like water traffic all over the world with your stunning AI models.
The only route I would miss is the Two Harbours - Avalon route at Catalina.
I guess I can test by keeping the above traffic file, download yours, set slider for boat/ship traffic to 5%, and if I get no AI traffic on the waters there that will tell me it's incompatible, and then I would delete this one and keep yours.
Thank-you, for your feedback.
MZee,
All of the routes you have for the HMS Bounty will work just fine along with Henrik's ship traffic files.
All five are set at 5%.
I've found the Bounty along each of the routes with no trouble.
Cheers,

Hi Guys,I have found a perfect place to tie up a cargo ship (WWII era, more or less) in my Oahu scenery. I need some advice please. Where/how can I isolate (or otherwise find an applicable model)? The vintage would probably eliminate a Container ship? I ANY ideas would be appreciated! Best to you all, Bill
Hi Again,What I should have said is that I need something that can possibly be construed as an ammunition ship.Regards,Bill
I certainly will now! Thanks Frank
If you dig in the folders in Global AI SHip Traffic V2 you will find both Victory Class, Liberty Class and T2 tankers from WWII, which you could easily convert to static models.

Might be a copy in the library, here; otherwise, above
Thank-you, @jmbiii, for checking this out.
When it comes to FSX AI traffic and how things work, unfortunately I'm at a total loss.
For some reason, I never really played around much with AI traffic in FSX all these years .... (beyond installing UT2).
Now, I'm realizing just how much immersion I missed out on.
I really appreciate all the help and feedback.

This will be the base version, but she will also be done a Falklands version with heli platforms over the 1st class swimming pool and just below the bridge. The routes into San Carlos bay are also coming along.
Is this "200_ai_ship_and_ai_ship_traffic_v2" is the last version still?
Thx for reply.
No, latest version is Global AI Ship Traffic V2 which you can only find on www.simviation.com and www.flightsimnorway.com - the latter is fully free with no speed restrictions and has a lot of great freeware from the Nordic countries. https://www.flightsimnorway.com/down...?pack=aishipsn
Thank You, downloaded and backuped :).
