Starting point on ships is done by ship.cfg. I think takeoff_start= is the data you need to change.

Try:

[flight_deck_section]
width=32.5
length=248.6
;takeoff_start=0,15.59,-100
takeoff_stop=0,20.3,80
landing_start=0,500,-5000
landing_touch_down=-0.70,20.3,-82.6
landing_stop=-0.70,20.3,-5

i copied the fight deck section from the saratoga and it is now in the right spot i think but i need to adjust the height.i took the pic while the enterprise was moving on on start up.http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/attachment.php?attachmentid=33261&stc=1
on which line do i adjust the height ?

Hi Dog1,

Looks like you are on the wrong platform.
Look in the ship's config. file, most likely there is more than one platform defined.

Here is the info from the stock Enterprise.

[platform.0]
; platforms are the actual surface that the planes
; land on. You can define as many platforms as you
; want by adding subsequent sections with increasing
; numbers. e.g. [platform.1], [platform.2] etc.
;
; vertices should be defined in model coordinates,
; and counter-clockwise order when viewed from above.
: REMEMBER, positive z is out the TAIL of the ship
; the shape may be concave or convex
; there may be from 3 to 20 vertices (limitation
; may go away later) and they must all be on the same
; plane.
vertex.0=10.880001,16.896,-117.376007
vertex.1=-12.416,16.896,-117.632004
vertex.2=-12.672001,16.896,-106.624008
vertex.3=-13.824001,16.896,-81.408005
vertex.4=-13.952001,16.896,-49.152004
vertex.5=-16.256001,16.896,-7.296
vertex.6=-16.256001,16.896,49.280003
vertex.7=-12.800001,16.896,76.800003
vertex.8=-12.800001,16.896,99.200005
vertex.9=-11.52,16.896,119.040009
vertex.10=12.800001,16.896,119.040009
vertex.11=14.336,16.896,100.224007
vertex.12=14.336,16.896,75.008003
vertex.13=14.336,16.896,48.256004
vertex.14=17.920002,16.896,-14.336
vertex.15=15.360001,16.896,-18.944
vertex.16=13.952001,16.896,-35.712002
vertex.17=14.080001,16.896,-81.536003
vertex.18=11.392001,16.896,-106.368004

The 16.896 is the height

Hope this helps,

Three things come to mind with this one.

First the ground crew of your ship is either realy good at pranks or just realy bad at everything. Second, That was one hell of a landing. Last I think of the kids cartoon 'Two Stupid Dogs', "Ain't that cute, but its WRONG".

Usio uses alot of decks in his models. Probably to help take screen shots or something. Let me know if you need any help.

The screen shots are at take off . Usio uses 55 platforms .each have 4 vertex inputs.I tried substituting with the CFG off the Usio Saratoga with the result beeing the images of the plane on the water.I used to know how to place objects on collins Essex years ago but my memory has faded.Its just about knowing which line does what,however its a bit strange since both CV's are identical.Is the input to be modified in the platform section or the flight deck take off above ? height , position on deck and which lines .

You would change the take off location.

try this one:

takeoff_start=0,15.59,-100

Its a case of too much info. That and my note pad won't translate his fonts.

tried drastic numbers to budge height and position with no reaction ,hopeless case,maybe a bug .pls close thread .

I'm working on a project. I'm almost finished. Give me a day or so and I'll sort it out.

Maybe this will help. You can extract the flight deck, platform and landing aid sections or just copy it all and paste/overwrite your entire ship.cfg:
