Sikorsky S76

Hi guys,

Since I am almost done with the base model for my Bell 222, I decided to take a break and work on something even more complex. Say hello to the Sikorsky S76. This model started out as payware from Nemeth Designs and has since been released as freeware, I was able to obtain the gmax files from Tamas Nemeth for conversion to FSX, but it's going to be quite more challenging as it did not come with FS9 makemdl parts dictionary with the custom animation XML, so I am taking the liberty of rewriting all the animations or use what I have from my Bell 222. This one won't come quick as I have obligations with other projects including the Commander 520, C1A Trader which is nearly completed and a new project I just picked recently. Texture mapping will remain the same as the FS2004 models, so not to worry about anything changing on the models. Tamas has graciously allowed me to add any kind of modifications to the base, so any mods are under consideration:wavey:

What I can do in a day. Approximately 70% of materials have been carried over with some left to do, animations are about 60% complete, also with some left to do and this is only the exterior and the executive variant, EMS variant to be completed once this one is done. Once this is completed, I can then tackle the VC and yet I have run into issues. No makemdl parts dictionary + no custom animations = writing my own animations or use what I have from my Bell 222 since the current engine gauges and systems are no good in FSX, although they did work fine FS2004. Lots more to get done.

Fantastic! The S-76 looks a little weird to me with it's retractable gear, but it's got really nice lines -- and it's nice and fast.

Now, we just need someone to do the S-97. That thing makes me feel like I'm in a sci-fi film.

VIP exterior finished with some some minor things to fix. Virtual cockpit about 65% complete with little materials and animations to carry over, will need a new sound system as the real bird doesn't sound like a Bell 412, now does it :P. Good news is that I have a functional 2 engine setup, but not using the horrible EH101 FDE. Once I get the VIP model completed, I can move over to the EMS variant. Now, who would like to do some paints for this bird while I finish her off? I really don't want to use what is out right now, so I would like to see something fresh. Send me a PM if interested.

S76 medical version in the workshop, now that most of the engine systems are in place. I can't show the VC yet because it is not fully converted over with the proper FSX material settings, but it is identical to the VIP VC, but with medical equipment in the back.

I've slowed down work a bit as I am wrapping up a new (redux if you will) project I am doing with a commercial developer. I also have assistance from real world pilots lending a hand on the S76, so hopefully I can bring a nicely simulated S76 to the table :)

Yes, I am finishing V1. I have some items I need to correct before I send out another beta. Once I am given the greenlight, I can proceed with release to the public. There will be a V2 with a much better and accurate startup/shutdown sequence as I have help from a couple of real world S76 pilots from the Spanish Air Force helping me out, but their aircraft is the S76C version with the Turbomeca engines compared to mine which has the Allison 250 engines. So all is looking good. I am posting updates to this project and others on my Facebook page. Not far from now guys :wavey:And yes, the C1 Trader update is more or less finished on my end, I'll double check to make sure the interior model is update to date from the last compile and that will be released.

I didn't know he had one done for this model or I would've made contact with Pablo to have it included. Since all original texture mapping is still the same as the original, that paint will fit nicely on the FSX native models.

Apologies for the delayed release. As Bjoern stated, I've been having issues with switches that control the HSI, problem that the switches actually control an RMI which is not installed in the helicopter. So to avoid any further delays, I'll release the helicopter as it is since it is functional as it is. I am planning to do a second phase which will involve rewriting the entire code to mimic the real world helicopter. This way I can get a couple of other projects out the door, continue the Trislander and Bell 47. Thanks for your patience and again, my apologies for the delayed release.
