Hello-

As the topic says, I would appreciate some pointers from our talented community, in getting rid of MOST OF the bits and bobs from the DEFAULT FSX 747-400. I only need to have the correct view point (height especially) along with ONE basic white external model. It serves as the viewpoint for a P3d scenery generator. Nothing from the default air file etc. is important other than the LANDING LIGHTS.

All the avionics/switches/graphics etc. that would reduce performance can be eliminated.

Any helpful hints would be greatly appreciated!

Best- Carl

This is what I would do.

Go to your B747_400\model folder, open model.cfg and comment out the second line

[models]
normal=B747_400
//interior=B747_400_interior

Move all the numbered texture folders into the folder named texture.

Open the B747_400 panel folder and rename Boeing747-400.cab
to Boeing747-400.cad.

You will now have a white 747 with no VC and a panel with no gauges.
You can use either but press Shift+1 and then Shift+5 if in the panel view
to remove the bitmaps.
You can still look around in the VC view but there will be nothing to see.

Nick-

BRILLIANT, Ta! The added advantage is that my EZCA works as well so now with the VC I can look left and right.

Many, Many thanks!

Is there ANYTHING else that I can do to remove ANY performance detractors from this default aircraft? Happy with the current status, but wanting "just a little more: ;)

Ta!
