My shift+I key stopped working all of a sudden. The assignment is correct in the controls (never changed).
Any thoughts?

Any recently installed add-ons that might be blocking it?

No. Just doing carrier landings and all of a sudden it wasn't working.

From what I know, there are only two reasons for these keys not to work:
1- the plane is not exactly at the correct position
2- the launch bar (SHIFT+U) is not deployed.
Have you checked both ?

Doering, it does happen, must be a FSX issue.

With what aircraft do you have this issue? Have you tried another aircraft?
Sometimes I'd the same issue , changing to another aircraft or another livery solved the issue.

Working now. Re-booted my computer. Not sure what the re-boot did. Flying Dino's F-14!
Thanks for your time and responses!

These are the two things I have found will not allow the cat to operate. Requires fiddling with "slew", moving the plane slightly back and forth (and sideways) and hitting Shift + U, Shift + I (sometimes Ctrl + U/I).
