I really want this, but I quit buying Carenado/Alabeo awhile ago. That isn't a complaint, my old system just can't handle that kind of awesome modeling. But when I do finally upgrade my system, this will be one of the first I pick up for it.

This is a hard one for me. I was a little disappointed with the Malibu.... system functions. But many years ago, I had a friend who owned a Navajo and charted it for the company where I worked. He also had a mail carrier route with the army. I was able to fly with him in the right seat many times on business trips and on his mail routes. One trip while in the right seat over New York, the concord was taking off within sight of us. So I was able to here their comms with the tower and try to watch it go! And go it did. Fun memories. So if this one gets a few good reviews I will probably have to get it.

Unlike most of Carenado's recent releases I'm interested in this one. But they've pretty much trashed their reputation with their constant stream of crippleware, so I'll be watching but holding my money if the reviews echo what we've experienced from them the past few years. I'm not getting my hopes up... plus there are simply too many reputable vendors out there today.

Yep there are, but I also don't see any of them doing a Navajo. I have the FSD International Navajo which first came out for FS9 then FSX so that tells you how long that ones been available. That's also the only Navajo that's been done in all that time. So hopefully Carenado does it justice and it suits everyone's expectations because I don't see anyone else clamoring to produce the Navajo.

I, too, have the FSD Navajo/Panther for FSX. It does have some problems in FSX and although I would like to have a true FSX PA-31, Carenado has developed a reputation for spotty systems and flight modeling and my old computer does not perform particularly well with 2048 HD textured aircraft.

Saw this today, Ed:

I plan on getting this one. I had posted about wanting an updated Navajo. Never got the FSD version. Would love to see a repaint of this in the now-defunct Harbor Airlines, which used to be based at Oak Harbor, WA (Wes Lupien airport, renamed A.J. Eisenberg airport). NC

Don't know if Harbor had the earlier models, but the OP pics show a different model to the Chieftain in your pic, Chief. I think the FSD model is a Chieftain, as your pic looks like what I'm us to seeing from flying that one.

I just hope it is paintable. The last few aircraft from them breaks the fuselage pieces up so badly, it is almost impossible to paint. I want an AZTEC next. We have been that one for YEARS!

The Navajo should be a good one, especially since it's all steam gauges! There is also still a chance a Chieftain will be done too. One of their next potential projects should be a good one too, another twin prop...hopefully they'll announce it soon :jump:

I must say that the Carenado model is head and shoulders above the now ancient FSD model. As I stated before, those HD textures tend to not play well on my old computer. I like the avionics package Carenado is placing in their Navajo, looks like what you would see in many Navajos and Chieftains today.

And the new project I was talking about is now officially announced! https://www.facebook.com/Carenado/posts/819605954782887 Between the Navajo, C404, and Aero Commander this summer/fall is going to be awesome for twin props :)

Seems to be progressing a little slowly. I hope that means they are making more buttons work.

Be nice if they added the long awaited Aztec to the collection as well! One problem with all their recent releases is that it is almost impossible to repaint the things. They are broken into a bunch of small pieces across several texture files. I know there is an easier way to do this. I just hope all the knobs that are supposed to do something actually do something (correctly!), that the instruments all work and correctly work, and that it was tested by some r/w Navajo pilots and not the guy who bought the last released plane and liked it. I really want this Navajo and I really want it to be right. This was one of my r/w rides and the real one was a pleasure to fly.
