By leaving the pilot 2 weight box empty on the fsx payload allows the rear cockpit unmanned. Love it. But I still havent found a way to shut down the engine :p

Many thanks Dino. Used to be a Jet Jockey but went 180 to GA for years now. Having said that, your creations are the exception, dedication, hard work, attention to detail and offering these masterpieces as freeware is pretty awesome. Thanks for this latest prize. Beautiful job!!

Thanks for the appreciation.

In order to turn off the engine, in reality, you need to put the throttle in the STOP position - this for the sim is equivalent to shut-off the fuel valve and can either be accomplished by control+shift+1 (or by clicking with the mouse nearby the throttle support when throttle is IDLE)

Note that by default the package is configured for VACMI - please read the docs on how to install the Tacpack configuration (you need to swap the default panel.cfg with the another one in the package). Some users reported issues with Tacpack, but at the moment they are not confirmed and they may well be due to the fact that the panl.cfg has not been swapped.

Thanks, Dino. Here at our club at Ysterplaat Air Force Base, We have built up a twin seater. Here, they are known as 'Impala's'. We are using FS2004, but I'm going to try this in P3dv1.4 on the sim.

Great fun will be had, as, in Fs2004, we put an aircraft carrier in Cape Town harbour & can land the plane (most of the time) on it. Simming CAN be fun!

If I recall correctly, this plane type was the first to engage British troops (firing rockets) during Falklands war.

Yeah, I read :-) I think Alessandro did some magnificent paints for this model, as he always do. I might find time for some paints as well but I am firmly hooked on the F-14 for the time being :-)

People here are downloading this, so I really feel dumb asking this. How do you download this into your computer so it can be installed?
The link provided here goes to Dino's webpage, there is a "Download" box to click, but all it does is bring up what files are included in the download.
What is it that you click to get it to download onto your computer?
I'm missing something that I'm sure is right there in plain site!

Thanks

On the top of the Google page that lists the files there is a downward pointing arrow. Click that arrow to get the download.

Yeah...albeit I generally like the Google design language, the current Google Drive interface is a little confusing.
Anyway, the file is now up at Avsim and Flightsim, too.

Aside, I've noticed that, in the readme, I have not clearly noted that the flight manual is in the MB326E / docs folder.

This is an awesome work. Just like ALL Dinos stuff.:jump::encouragement:

One thing. How do I turn off the heavy breathing / grunting sound effects in the cockpit? While I know thats simulation of real pilot G force stress and breathing technique, I am a ninja assassin and trained not to have these problems when flying from my desktop. I find it very distracting.

How can this be either turned down (preferable) or off?

I couldn't agree more! In my house, I'm the one that does the heavy breathing and grunting!! :biggrin-new:

To turn off the breathing sounds (which I thought it was a nice touch... as reflected my own experience on the real deal :-) ) you should edit the Sound.ini file in the MODULES folder of the MB-326E.
Removing the following lines will disable the sounds:

Lvar11=Breath_Sound
Lvar12=Valsava_Sound

BTW - I am really looking forward for the repaints that the community will create on this one :-)

The sounds themselves are quite nice. I just think that they are triggerred a tad too early with respect to g-level. Of course Dino you have hands on experience on this bird and know better. However, is there a way to increase the threshold of the g over which this effect is triggerred?

Hi Dino. Im confused. My sound.ini only goes up to Lvar-10 and shows max sounds =10. Even still, I have the valsava and Breath sounds.

[Config]
MaxSounds=10
Lvar=SoundId
LvarStop=SoundStop

[Sounds]

@ejoiner

That should not be the case... maybe I am wrong, but the module folder should contain two .ini file.
One is named dsd_fsx_xml_sound.ini and gets read and used if, for some reason, reading the proper .ini fails. It has 11 Lvars entries indeed.
The second one is names Sound.ini and it is the proper .ini file you should alter. It should have 13 Lvar entries including breathing.

@Dimus

You may be right, in the sense that a trained pilot would probably withstand more Gs like a breeze... Reason why I kinda lowered the limit was to reflect my own experience a bit - even 3.5G turns feel a little weird if you are used to small GA aircrafts or airlines.
The sound activation is toggled by the AvionicsControl.xml gauge (which resides in the MB326E -> gauges -> MB326.gauges folder).

Look for this piece of code:

<element>(A:G Force, GForce) 3 > if{ 1 (>L:Breath_Sound, number) }
(A:G Force, GForce) 5 > if{ 0 (>L:Breath_Sound, number) 1 (>L:Valsava_Sound, number) }
</element>

3 and 5 are the two threshold values in G's

Hi Dino. I found it this time. there are actually two sound.ini files. one in the modules folder and another in the sound folder. They look pretty much the same with the exception of these breathing and valsava entries. Anyway, I commented them out. Lets see what happens.

Thanks!!!

Man this thing is a keeper! Has anyone been working on manual bombing?
I was giving it a go tonight and started to get in the ballpark with 100 mils 350 knots and 1500' AGL with the small practice bombs.
It is going to take a lot more experience to get the parameters right though.
Thanks Dino, this thing is a blast

Thanks for the appreciation!

For those who may be interested, you can have a look at the real world manuals at Avialogs (the manual included in my package is based on the real world manual of the H version from RAAF):

http://www.avialogs.com/index.php/en/aircraft/italy/aermacchi/mb326.html

I have never verified the applicability of the real world ballistic tables, but they should not be too far off with Tacpack...
Guns are a different story... I have not adjusted the aim towards the real world data.
