After a month of inactivity (OK, too much activity on other fronts), I have slowly restarted my painting, and my first project is the SAAF Mirage IIICZ ZU-DME Black Widow.
Here's a very early wip shot:

but I could use some help. On the real aircraft, there is a crest/badge/logo on the tail, and I would like to know what that is. Also, there are three names below the cockpit on the left hand side, and I have not been able to find any good pics of those either. Can any of you guys help me here?
I'll be on the road for the rest of this week, but work continues next sunday (I hope).

I promised more work for today, and here it is:
http://i722.photobucket.com/albums/ww230/jcblom60/Mirage/ss15452.jpg (http://s722.photobucket.com/user/jcblom60/media/Mirage/ss15452.jpg.html)

I do believe I have all the lines more or less right

http://i722.photobucket.com/albums/ww230/jcblom60/Mirage/ss15454.jpg (http://s722.photobucket.com/user/jcblom60/media/Mirage/ss15454.jpg.html)

but if anyone sees any glaring mistakes, please tell me.
I know about those little vents below, but I can't find them on the textures...if anyone knows where they are? Both the black ones that should be gold and the gold ones that should be black. I fear it is a duplication problem...
The pilot now has a red helmet too, which you can use for the other SAAF paints as well.
I am not quite happy with the black and gold yet, so some more experimenting to do there, but I am getting close(r)...
Any other comments so far?

I know, strange those sidewinders on an aircraft with a civilian registration, but I like those tanks too, and I don't think there's a model with tanks and without rockets is there?

Despite my campaigning for it there is no unarmed version in the mix with just the option of external fuel. But an workaround (as Benoit Daube suggested to me) is to load a version with the centerline Matra R530 missile and then drop the missile using the jettison button behind the yellow/black cover plate on the bottom left of the main panel. All that will remain is the empty pylon and those tanks.

Thanks for the gold and the red helmet. :encouragement:

Well, I found two of the names, and I improvised the third. You can't read them anyway, too small...

So here is the end result, give it a try, and if you like it, do post a screenie, would you?
