JustFlight is really upping their game lately....between the TriStar Professional, Canberra, and upcoming Tornado. Good stuff. Thanks for the HU.

I'd buy her, but I'm afraid too. I'd need to know if it will install to P3D 2.4. As of right now my poor poor Cubana DC8 I bought from them will not install to P3D. Thankfully my 747HD Lite offers that ability.

I have the original which IMO is a fine model but for now, I will hold off until I get a good opinion or review of the update. If it is a step up, then it's certainly going to be good.

I have the initial release. Didn't spend much time flying it though. I thought this would be a free upgrade for previous owners just like me getting the latest free upgrade of Aerosoft A320/321.

Thanks :encouragement:

As you might have seen/read, a few of us formed a new in-house development team last year and the Canberra was our first project. After the Canberra was released two of the team moved over to start work on the Tornado and I moved over to upgrade the Tristar (following lots of feedback from customers who wanted to see a fully-functioning 'Pro' version released). I am now moving onto the Tornado, and we already have a few exciting projects lined up after that. Exciting times ahead...

The product is compatible with FSX, P3D v1 and P3D v2. There is a single installer included which has the option of installing into all three sims (you can have it installed into FSX and P3D without any issues).

It's taken me six months to upgrade the aircraft to a 'Pro' level, so it wouldn't be commercially viable to give away the upgrade for free. Worth noting that this isn't a case of adding a few new features to an existing aircraft, I have added far more coding/systems in the upgrade than ever existed in the original product, so I reckon £15 is a reasonable price.

Once the service pack is released (currently in the queue behind the F-27), the installer will be updated to work in all three sims.

DC8 installed into P3D2.4 fine for me, I just have an FSX registry that points to P3D and a dummy FSX.EXE in P3D root
Cheers

:encouragement:Thank you JF. keithb77, thanks, but I dont use the migraition or Exe tricks in my P3D. On my particular setup that is no no and will cause headache's in my case and Vegas doesn't have enough beer to cure me lol.

Martyn please dont take my words wrongly. Apologize if it turned out to sound more like a complaint. It wasnt. I like the TriStar a lot and logged hundreds of hours in the sim. I just visited the site and you are right, the price is reasonable for the upgrade you have made. I replied the thread without even peeking the new price.
Thank you.

Not at all.

We try hard to keep our prices as low as possible (I think we must have given away more freebies than most payware developers?) but nobody gets rich from working in this industry and an upgrade of this size needed to be charged for to recuperate the development cost. Hopefully everyone will consider it to be worth the £14.99 upgrade price :encouragement:

@ Martyn: I think the upgrade price si very fair for all the improvements. Just a quick question though. I have the earlier version installed, so does the upgrade just detect that and install the new version over the old?

Thanks
Steve

Hi Steve,

Although its called the 'upgrade' version, it is in fact the full product so it won't upgrade the original product's files.

The latest version of the installer (uploaded yesterday) will prompt you to uninstall the original before installing the Professional version, however the Professional version can be installed alongside the original version if you wish.

Thanks
Martyn
