This is the same airframe that used to be the well-known "Glamorous Gal", which was pranged back in 2011. The restoration was performed by Midwest Aero Restorations, and is another stunning example of their craftsmanship. As is typical of Midwest Aero restored Mustangs (all except for "HJGB"), the bare metal is highly polished, but all of the paints and primers are done in correct colors and flat/matte finishes, and the wings are painted dull silver, as per original. In the same regard, its got a modern panel/cockpit, but it's finished in authentic/correct paint/primer and with a generally period look. If I recall correctly, the aircraft will be based in Colorado with its new/current owner.

Coincidentally, the Imperial War Museum (England), unveiled their P-51D today as well, which just finished a very thorough restoration (remaining static), and is finished in the markings of another 78th FG example. It is painted in the markings of a P-51K that was assigned to Lt. Col. Huie Lamb, who is still alive today and was present at the unveiling. The paint work on this restoration is really unique, as they copied all of the original paint work in exacting detail, to the point of leaving all of the original imperfections and miss-alignments just as they were on the original aircraft, rather than making it a 'perfected likeness'.
