The impression I get from reading that is that you're OK, so long as you don't power it on. Which means that for the time being (until an update is available), you should probably avoid powering your computer off if you have one of the affected drives.

And whether your drive will be a problem or not depends on the firmware version you have.

Does that agree with others' interpretations?

Seagate says it's a firmware problem so I downloaded the most current firmware from Seagate and installed it. Hopefully I won't have that problem.

My 2 barracuda 7200.10 's in raid seem to work fine. I guess it's just a prob with the newer drives?
