As the title suggests this poll is just a way of determining how many members are using Dx10 preview in FsX?

Always Steve's Dx10, but for military aircraft with TacPack Dx9.

Hi Dave,
Windows 8 has the capability of using Dx11, but FsX will only use Dx10 preview if it is checked in the FsX settings menu

Haven't used DX9 for ages.

Oddly enough, my performance is worse with DX10*, so no.

*Despite using exclusively FSX native stuff (including AI models).

Wouldn't dream of going back to dx9... The sim looks a lot better and is much smoother in dx10.

DX10 exclusively - I was late to the FSX party so I've never not used DX10, and with Steve's fixer... excellent!

Very interesting results so far. Dx10 comes in a close second to Dx9 from our members. I thought that if Dx10 users came in at about 25% it would be quite incredible as with Steve Parsons Fixer still a very new option.

How do I tell what I'm using? I ran Dxdiag and it says I'm running DX-11. Does that mean FSX is making use of it? In FSX settings I don't have "Preview DX-10" checked. Do I have to tell FSX to "use" DX-11? How?

Ha ha, no problems Paul. If you decide to give Dx10 a go it's only going to be successful if you buy the Dx10 Fixer program, so it needs some money spent before you leap and if you're happy in Dx9 then stay there. What I like about Dx10 is that it shifts some of the cpu burden onto the gpu thus freeing up the cpu to operate more efficiently.

I voted Dx9 but sometimes try Dx10
when DX-10 came out M$ told us it was going to be better than sex, I just never got that far, lol
I never tried the fix, my old win7 64, I-7, 12 GB memory and gtx 260 just did not have the horsepower.

The GTX 260 probably would hold you back Ickie. I built my new rig with Dx10 in mind although I should have gone for a 4 gig GTX770...

I've never had any luck either with DX10. Granted, I've gone through a change from AMD to Nvidia since the last time I tried DX10, but then, I've also had no real issues with DX9; I get good, smooth performance. As the saying goes, if it ain't broke... Perhaps ironic, seeing as so many claim that FSX is beyond broken!

win 7 comes with DX11. if you want to instal lDX9 or 10 than you need teh Microsoft web installer, just ,make sure it downloads and installs both. The dx will always ssow 11 as it is the latest ver for win 7.

I'm with several others here. Although my PC is or should I say was (GPU failure) capable I never got any real improvements in performance or visuals so no not a big user of DX10 . I still crank it up in DX10 every so often but usually don't stay there for long.

In FSX I have a lot of older FS9 models that I enjoy flying but are not DX10 compatible, so that's one deterrent. Also I never really saw the allure of DX10. . .fps was no different than with DX9, scenery looked no different, water was no better. I just didn't see anything about it that was all that great.

FSx works just fine with DX9, so: "donīt fix it if itīs not broken".

For me it was stability that made me stop with Dx10.

Was never able to get decent framerates in clouds using DX10 and the Fixer. Am now on P3D2 pretty much exclusively, so am no longer trying to work with DX10. When I do go back to FSX, I stick with DX9.

As far as i'm concerned, FSX + DX10 + Steve's Fixer + FTX Global = FSXI :encouragement:
