While the track is gorgeous,
I've decided not to go up there for the race until they get a better handle on the parking.

I might do MotoGP again and/or V8 Supercars though.

Somehow that seems to be a problem with all circuits.. :mixed-smiley-010:

To what extent?
Unless you're rich, with Austin, you pretty much have to park miles away & then ride a 45min to 1hr bus ride to the track.

Spa and Silverstone for example are notorious for their parking problems, as are tracks located in big cities like Sao Paolo or Kuala Lumpur.

Zandvoort is another fine example; very expensive parking and only one narrow road in & out so long traffic jams every race. By train it's two hours from where I live to the city, just 60 miles.. Best option is to drive to a nearby station and take the train from there for the last bit, but once you arrive you still need a brisk 15-20 minute walk to get to the track.

Oh, andd as for the race..? :apathy:

Well, at least we got to see Vettel set a new record (Eight wins in a row in one season), but I'm all in favour of adding penalty weight for each victory by now...

Spa & Silverstone are old tracks - the traffic situation was different when they were designed versus the present.
Austin is a new track that's out in the middle of nowhere. Due to it being new and "out there" location, traffic & parking shouldn't be as horrific as it is.

If the track was in downtown Austin, then I could understand -however, the track is out in the country in area of low populace. There is almost literally nothing around the track & thus why the parking situation makes zero sense.

Wife had to work, I know lame excuse. I did have great parking at MotoGP on my Duc, and assumed the bikers would be allowed right up to the ticket gate for F1.

Oh yeah, the MotoGP is entirely different! (Which is why I said I'll probably do that again..)
