No indication in the article of plans for the aircraft and replicas that are part of the property.

If you're in/near LAX, better think about dropping by for a last meal and photos.

Looks to be an interesting place to grab a bite and look around....I remember when nearly every town that I lived in had
a public park that featured various military craft on display. Seems a shame when a local place like this goes away, especially
after being decades there.

Reprieve!

At least for one more year...

"Historic LAX restaurant, the Proud Bird, will remain open after the owner was able to get a new lease from Los Angles World Airports, according to the L.A. Times (http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-ln-proud-bird-to-stay-20131212,0,903726.story#axzz2oLzyMnYN). With stunning views of aircraft operations at LAX, surrounded by mockups of famous aircraft, crammed with aviation photos and memorabilia and long a hangout for aviators from all over the world, the restaurant faced closure after its annual rental rate was set to go from $200,000 to $500,000. Owner John Tallichet, noting an outpouring of community support, had earlier pledged to keep the restaurant open until late December. This week he announced that the new, one-year lease and said negotiations were continuing on a long-term lease."

LOL!!!

That wasn't a new lease term, that was an ultimatum to pack up and leave! In this economy, you do not increase rent by 250% That's insane! Then again, this is a government agency that tried to do it, so perhaps the term insane is really just an oxymoron!
