Rami : I need a specialist scenery advice!

I have installed "JHS_North_Africa" scenery + your "western_desert" add-on together with "JBbr_Desert_scen_Beta.zip","Afnor_Tunisia_NE_lod9.zip", "Rhumbaflappy’s LOD 5, 7, and 8 mesh, and the water masks","Sander de Cocq’s coastlines and LandClass" following your intructions for the MTO scenery install.

However, I get strange "dark blue water" zones or "dark blue water" square zones when I fly over this scenery.

See the picture below...

9270992710

I think it is a problem of wrong texture names somewhere in the "JHS_North_Africa" scenery_db textures file, or in the "world/scenenry/textures file", or in the main CFS2 textures file,... but I cannot solve it....

Please can you give me some advice to solve this problem.

Thanks in advance for your answer,

Cheers.

Hi Beepee,

I don't have this installed, but I do remember Pen32win putting out a fix for "north african lakes", maybe this is what you are seeing?

You can get Pen32win's lake fix here http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/local_links.php?action=jump&catid=45&id=4561

Good morning,

I guess sleepless nights with my daughter has benefited you...lol (I just put her back to bed)

The lake fix is part of it, but I also would like to take a look at your scenery.cfg

I may be able to troubleshoot based on that. If that strikes out, it might be a texture issue.

We'll nail it down, just keep the communication flowing.

Hi Beepee!

Something similar happened to me when I installed Jean's Afnor sceneries for the first time. I had either your water problem and plain green squares scattered over the land.

Usually CFS2 does that when the scenery calls for texture files that are missing, primarily from CFS2 root \TEXTURE folder. I resolved my problem thanks to Jean's suggestion to copy all of Afnor textures in CFS2 root \TEXTURE folder.

Make sure you install Pen's "North African lakes" fix as well!

Cheers!

Thanks Rami, Kelticheart, UncleTgt, for your help

I have installed ""north african lakes" and copy again my "word \scenery textures" in my "CFS2 root \TEXTURE" folder and that has fixed the pb.

For Ramy, here is a pict of my scenery config organisation. I have put the "AFNOR_xxx_33.bgl's", "Tunisia_NE_lod9.bgl", "946190m.bgl and 947190m.bgl" in the "\SCENEDB\lod9\scenery" folder.

This way, the "JHS_North_Africa" scenery works well, and also my other PTO sceneries that are part of the same cfs2 install

Beepee,

I'm glad you got it all sorted out. Great work! (Thanks for posting the scenery.cfg, but the fact that your scenery is now set makes the point moot!)

Rami or other....

When I fly from Gibraltar 43 scenery, I get a message for a missing object : "electrical_infrastructure_1"

Who can tell me where I can find this object in the SOH library?

Thanks for you answer,

Beepee

Don't bother, I found the "electrical_infrastructure" objects in the SOH CFS2 library.

Beepee,

Sorry about the delay...A root canal yesterday, followed by work, followed by having to fix a flat tire. I just got home and settled, sorry.

Here is the link if anyone else needs it: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/local_links.php?action=jump&catid=17&id=11393

I told the admins in the staff forum I was going to be off-line for roughly twenty-four hours, and Jagdflieger is also away with personal issues of his own.

Rami or Anyone

For some reason I have no sound in Free Flight (guns, motor, etc) for individual planes. The sound works on all the opening pages. It could be something I have done. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? I have deleted filelist, etc. I am really enjoying this campaign and would like to fix the sound.

That's where the N-Af scenery overlaps with the old SdC_EURW; likely 948180 and/or 949180 and/or 950180. If you remove those files from EURW you should be OK (but lose coastlines on Corsica/Sicily etc.)

Beepee,

Not sure about the sound problem, but the scenery issue is a WIP...

Hi Sander, Rami and other scenery gurus

I made trials removing 948180**.bgl's and/or 949180** and/or 950180** in the Euw scenery, but that did not solved the pb for this aera.

I am sure the pb comes from one the " XXXXX**.bgl" in the EurW scenery/scenery folder
if the EurW scenery is desactivated, you get Afnor type coastlines for the aera, but after point N37*15.06 E10*0.04, the east tunisian coastline is missing (see the pict)...but I did not find wich "xxxx**.bgl's" are the ones in cause...
If somebody has an idea, about the "XXXX**.bgl's" to remove that will be helpfull... The port of Bizerte was an important place during WWII, and deserves to be added one day in CFS2 ...
93086

If the Afnor scenery is desactivated, you get EurW type coastlines for the aera, and for the east tunisian aera, but you loose all the rest of the Afnor scenery improvements... (I installed the MTO scenery following Rami instructions : all the Afnors, tunisia_NE, and East Med countries bgl's being in the Afnor scenery folder)
93087

I finaly partialy solved the PB removing the "N37E09_**_*.bgl's" from the Afnor scenery/scenery folder ... but I lost the Afnor type coastlines beetween points N37* 7.20 E8* 59.91 and N37*15.06 E10*0.04.
