FSD Commander 115TC [Archive]

Just wondering if anyone who has this aircraft with a 64 bit OS has this problem, the engine management gauge doesn't display correctly, the bars are not their just a single line and the flight sim freezes. I've been working with FSD and they haven't seen this problem. I've done a clean install with acceleration and that hasn't resolved the problem. Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry, no help here - I have this a/c, and I'm running win7/64. I do not have the issue you describe. My engine management gauge runs fine. I was having a problem with something else after I installed the service release form FSD for the 115, but I either fixed the issue myself or it resolved on its own. So none of this helps you . . . other than it looks as if it's not the OS. Possibly some conflict with the gauge and something else in FSX? Is there another similar gauge you could replace it with as a test? Not exactly a common gauge type.

I'll mess with my 115 for a bit and see if I can reproduce the problem. Does it happen right at startup or at some point after?

The aircraft will load but will freeze the flight sim up, can't even fly it. I tried loading a default aircraft and then switch to the commander and still get the same problem.

Could it be a soundfile in error? "Gaugesound.dll" is a cause sometimes of both gauge problems and "lock-up" problems. Should be in the main FSX folder. If you don't see it, that may be it. Just a guess though as I don't have that airplane.

I think the problem with it locking the flight sim was that I didn't instal FSUIPC. After I installed it the flight sim didn't lock up. It's still a mystery why I'm having this problem.

Is there a relationship between FSUIPC and the gauge? Anyway, try replacing the gauge and see if it still freezes . . .

I tried reinstalling the aircraft and the error came saying that it couldn't find the DLL.xml but it's in the correct place. I will try one last time and then forget about trying to make this airplane work. Thanks for all the suggestions.

I found a replacement engine gauge from the AOPA C177, but just copying the gauge and putting it in place of the other doesn't make it work. Any one else put the JPI EDM-800 in another aircraft get it to work?

So, I'm just throwing out ideas here . . . are you still getting crashes with the 115 when you replaced the gauge? My next thought would be try marking out the engine management gauge using // in the panel.cfg file and see if the 115 still freezes FSX.

What does FSD suggest is causing it, or what to do about it?

FSD hasn't run into this problem and couldn't find a solution for this. After a long night I was able to swap the gauge out and put one in its place. I can load the plane without it freezing the flight sim.

Anyone watching the thread here - would it matter which version of FSUIPC (paid or otherwise) was installed? Could there be a possible link to the gauge and FSUIPC, or no? Obviously I don't know.
