I saw a post on CFS2 forum, asking about damage textures. The thought occurred to me that it'd be cool if the Vietnam era aircraft had similar textures..... I prefer the dirty textures anyway, as to me they are more realistic. A damaged-looking SLUF would be interesting to see!

I was on the Independence with VA-15 when we attacked Lebanon, after the USMC barracks bombing. One of our Corsairs trapped back aboard with its exhaust in tatters from a SAM exploding closeby.

About the only time we'd see a shiny, clean aircraft was when one arrived from rework:salute:

Swiss-cheese holes made by small arms fire or fragments from a SA-2 SAM detonating close by would be pretty easy to do on a damage texture, also areas of missing skin. Big holes you can see daylight through and missing pieces of wing or tail, such as 37/57mm AAA hits would inflict, I don't think would be possible since CFS2 uses pure green or black alpha channels for the transparency and you can't do that in FSX.
