2013 NAS Oceana Air Show has been cancelled

...due to budget issues. We'll (the family and I) will still hit the Virginia
Beaches on our annual pilgrimage, but the airshow was the pinnacle of the
visit and it'll be missed.

However, I can be a beach bum with very little encouragement and there's tons
of other things to see and do in the area! :mixedsmi:

We were going to go to Langley this May, but that is also dead. There is always next year! (gives me more time to collect more $$!!)

Offut AFB has also canceled their air show this year, was looking forward to taking my 5 year old there this year too.

Same here in RI. The Qonset RI air show has been confirmed cancelled. Most of the proceeds go to the childerens hospital and will def be missed.

If any of you SOH folks besides Odie and family find yourselves in the Tidewater area during the summer, keep in mind that you can visit the Flame of Hope POW/MIA Memorial park off Oceana Blvd. and get a good view of Hornet flight ops. Preferably during the week when everybody's running a full flight schedule. For that matter you can go shopping darn near anywhere in Virginia Beach and just look up occasionally and you'll get a free air show. :icon_lol:
