I haven't even checked on an update to my REX install for a very long time.

Just visited the REX website, looking for updates. My head started spinning when I saw a long list. Geez! How the heck do I know which one to download???

The current build on my system is: 2.5.2010.0820

I have NO clue which update to download/install, and I know from exerience NOT to download/install the incorrect version!

Any help here???

Thanks. NC

My comment won't help you much, but I say welcome to the club.
REX is a great product when it runs. But woe to those who have problems... or are on an upgrade path...

Support is great though. I needed it a few times and got always a competent and timely response.

Cheers,
Mark

FSX, right? The numbers are listed correctly? I ask because I don't see your version here. (http://www.realenvironmentxtreme.com/forums/index.php?/forum/22-fsx-p3d/) Or that and it is a very old version indeed.

I went from 2.5.2010.1027 to 3.5.2012.1029 last November, via this link. (http://www.realenvironmentxtreme.com/forums/index.php?/topic/21718-rex-essential-plus-overdrive-for-rex-2320101027-users/) The upgrade download itself was rather quick, believe it or not. It was a snap, very easy and painless -I just did exactly what it said to do, no deviation whatsoever.

I haven't looked for or felt the need for any updates since then -no need to fix what isn't broken...

I hear ya on 'install the wrong update or face the consequences' though.
Being your version isn't showing on that list or any list in that thread, I'd pm or email timest999. He certainly would have the answer.

1) This first - http://www.realenvironmentxtreme.com/forums/index.php?/topic/10702-overdrive-hotfix/
You will see it is an update for 2.5.2010.0820 that updates your REX version to v 2.5.2010.1027.

2) With your REX at v 2.5.2010.1027 you will then need this update - http://www.realenvironmentxtreme.com/forums/index.php?/topic/21715-rex-essential-plus-overdrive-for-rex-2520101027-users/

3) Your REX will now be REX Essential plus overdrive v 3.5.2012.1029.

4) Usual caveats apply regards updating. Check that that sequence does follow your version installs.

5) Alternative option to redownload the very latest REX available from your original purchaser, just follow the uninstall help on the REX forums, then install your new downloaded and already up to date REX Essentials 3.5

6) Then have fun :)
