Does anyone know of any repaints for Eduardo Fadul's Fairchild Cornell PT-19? I'm looking for its original USAAC blue/yellow training colours.

Cheers :mixedsmi:

I found this on at simviation.com, by J.E. Narcizo...:ernae:

Jerry Beckwith also did a nice PT-19 in U.S. Army colors.

(And it will do a true spin in FS9!)

Get it here: http://mudpond.org/ (http://mudpond.org/)

Nice job that, thanks for the pointer Mick. VC could be nicer but ya can't have everything I guess! :mixedsmi:

The Fadul version is very recent and has a pretty good VC, but a rather weard selection of paint jobs none being the original USAAC scheme which is a real shame.

The reason for my interest in this machine is that we have one based locally, and it's the only one flying in Europe. Also I pushed it back into its hangar this evening! ;)

:gossip:Maybe one of our resident painters will see this post and "volunteer" to do a USAAC paint scheme. Cazzie are you out there???

True enough, they were used until the 1960's in some parts of the world, not bad for a machine that entered service in 1940! It would be nice to see a repaint made to represent the Cornell operated by the Classic Flying Machine Collection (http://www.cfmc-gb.com/).

I'm on it. Have the fuselage lines and shading/highlighting done. This is a very clean template, very well laid out, will be easy to produce new skins for. Will add as much detail as I can without muddying up a nice plane.

That's very kind of you, thank you! :jump:

Reworking the shadows and highlights on the fuselage for the 4th or 5th time...not happy with the results thus far.

A bit off topic..but does any one else have a problem with the plane bouncing on the ground. Once in the air, the plane is as smooth as silk, but on the ground she hops like she has eaten too many Pixie Sticks (for those too young to remember the real Pixie Sticks, they were carboard tubes filled with pure sugar and cocaine. Okay, maybe the cocaine part wasn't there but the way they hopped us up as kids, they may well have had some sort of drug in them).

Yes I noticed that too, a real shame as the model and VC are great. I guess it needs a tweak, but I don't know enough about that side of things to come up with a fix.

I seem to remember Ted Cook's Tomtit having similar issues, it was resolved by someone here making alterations to the contact points in the aircraft config.

Do the same with this one, just replace the contact points section with this one. It's fixed the problem on my sim anyway. :)

Did you have any luck creating a USAAC texture for this machine OBIO? Cheers :ernae:

I had the paint template almost done...then lost everything on my HD due to my FAT files or what ever getting scrambled.

Will have to redownload the plane and start all over again.
