I am re-installing FS2004 on my system and am looking for opinions on pre-packaged traffic software. I have Traffic (Formerly Traffic 2005). My main reason for getting at was at the time, there was not any significant military AI available but Military AI works have long since taken care of that. I have found the models serviceable but I wonder about Flight1's Ultimate Traffic. I think from what I have seen, the aircraft models are better but there is the giant red flag of "we still sell a product we refuse to support". How do you update flight plans? Does anyone have screen shots of Ultimate Traffic's AI? Most importantly, I am looking for opinions, should I buy it or stick with Traffic from Just flight?

If you are looking for modern traffic I can't help with suggestions though I do have UTraffic...on one of my FS installs :D
But If you like the golden days of air transport then look no further than CalClassic.com
Everything you need to remake the world of the late 50s to late 60s around the world come back to life on one site. Planes (AI and User flown), scenery and traffic.
Best of all it's all free and support is excellent.

Cheers

+1 to what Stefan said. Currently my FS environment is around 1959-ish, and I have never enjoyed it more.

I've got Ultimate Traffic, had it for several years now , but a mate of mine suggested World of AI http://www.world-of-ai.com/

It's freeware and there's a huge selection of passenger and cargo aircraft and flight plans.

Best of all it's so easy to install.

It's a huge improvement over UT and now my sim world ( mainly US and Canada ) is full to overflowing of AI traffic.

But be quick , the site is closing down in a few months time which shouldn't be a problem so long as you grab all that you want now.

If you want WOAI, you'd better get what they have now. It won't be around much longer...

I agree 100+% with Stefan. Flying in the CalClassic environment is amazing. It covers a huge part of the planet and support is excellent. Much expertise shared by an enthousiastic community.

Cheers,
Maarten

Not prepackaged at all, but my FS9 is all leggins, Miami Vice and shoulder padding, thanks to these guys:

(Not to mention tons of colourful paint schemes.)

Plenty of great HU here - particularly re WOAI packages - snap'em up while you can;
We've been warned - they won't be around for long.

Do yourself a big favour and grab Don Grovestine's awesome AI Flight Planner
(it's freeware - but you won't find a more comprehensive traffic program)

Good tips all but the reason I was looking at the prepackaged AI was I really don't want to fly to an airport then decide I need to find what airlines fly there, then find their packages. I will probably pick up some World of AI packages but the thought of wading through 400 + packages is kind of daunting. Nigel, really appreciated the AI flight planner tip.

Pleasure awj112. :salute:

Lol. I remember a similar dilemma re: woai - ended up dowloading 8 - 10 major international carriers (that way you're guaranteed traffic at most med to large airports anywhere globally, then I grabbed 5 or 6 'locals' for places I regularly fly to/fro. S'nuff for me anyhow!

I'd kill for an all-in-one collection of every freeware package ever produced, but all these required permissions and persuasion... :isadizzy:

(There is - used to be - or something - an all-in-one package, but it's more on the, well "inofficial" side of things. Not illegal at all but still enough to peeve off any AI traffic developer whose work is in it.)

Nothing about software piracy is legal.
