Thanks to a heads-up in the Fs9 forums: The old Alphasim Handley Page Victor is now freeware, and that goes for the native FsX version too! Four models, VC and sounds are all included. :applause:

Really alien looking aircraft, even though it's first flight was sixty years and three days ago! Still think it looks like something from the Thunderbirds, it must have been a real shock to the people back in 1952!

Get it here: http://www.virtavia.com/Freeware/index.php (Click 'sort by date' in the upper right corner so it will move to the top of the list)

Christmas indeed! Now what I want is to paint a placard from the Afghanistan theatre for the rear window:- "Cash sales only. No cards accepted" Service humour at its best!

Thanks for the heads up. :wavey:

Well I obviously wasn't there, but in 1964 the F-105, Starfighter and Blackbird were already around, but in 1952 the Comet was barely in commercial service, and the air forces still flew Sabres and Meteors. The Victor and Vulcan must have been something really special in those days.

Btw might have missed it and it aint news to the rest of you, but it loks like the Crusader is a freebie now as well.

Found a few repaint packs for the Victor over at Flightsim.com by Jason Sparks, and with a bit of work these work on the FsX model too; here's the first prototype in its striking colour scheme:

And the second prototype in blue:
