I currently have a 22" HP Monitor. Will a 27" do anything to make things better?

Just went from my 15" Notebook monitor to an external 24" HP w2448hc, which is brilliant. Got a good price on a used one, pretty much like new though... However I wouldn´t go larger myself, as I have a pretty narrow desk here, and this one is allready filling my vision almost totally when sitting in front of it. And depending on what resolution the 27" would have against the 22", you would experience a perfomance hit, as the increase in size can easily double the pixels that need rendering.

The view in FS is great though, using 0.33 zoom now, I have a pretty nice peripheral view. Very good while working with documents for university, too. When I could fit one page on my notebook, I can now view 4 pages parallel.

I love my new Acer 27" 1808p LED monitor. It kicks the pants off my old Samsung LCD. Got it for a really good deal at Best Buy. Was surprised to see a store have better prices than online.

I'm running a 30" (2560x1600 resolution) monitor since '07 and can't see myself ever going back to a smaller one.

Do you play a lot of first person shooters or something? I don't see a whole lot of reason for 1ms response time otherwise...

I'd compare specs before going to a larger size monitor. A really nice 22 inch monitor is going to be more enjoyable than a 27 inch monitor that has a fuzzy image, doesn't produce nice colors or creates a blurred image when panning. I'm using an Acer 22 inch monitor, the only thing I don't like about it is it's (in)ability to produce great night scenes. Brighter images are just great, but in flight sim at night, the ground colors often tend to be more of a grayish muddy color.

I've heard some very good reports on the Yamakasi Catleap 27" 2560x1440 monitors. Cheap out ebay for these.

I run a 42" LCD HD TV for the main monitor; by JVC. Got it for $750.00 about 2 or 3 years ago. Runs awesome. I am running my 15.4 inch Vizio i7 Laptop on it via a HDML link and its very nice. I am running P3D also, so that makes it run even smoother.

These days, you can get 42" TV's for around $500.00. You can then also use the unit as your TV when not on the computer. You usually have 2 or 3 HDML links in the back, so you can link in DVD players, and..... more then one computer (I have 2 computers linked in).

Once you have a giant screen, you will be spoiled. Its also very easy on the eyes and reading gauges much better, and the scenery............ AWESOME! So much more easier on the eyes...
