I was sitting here today and was trying to think of what military plane I would love to see most in FSX.....here is a short list:

1. T-33
2. FJ-4B Fury
3. F-86H
4. Late F4U corsairs the dash 4's and 5's

I know a one or two fo them were rumored to being done but.....I'm not one to go on rumors.

Anyone else?

Would love to see some of the "what if" and X-planes...seems like they never get done or are from FS2002 and need a severe face lift:

In no particular order:

Vought XF5U
Bell X-5

2. TF-9J Cougar
3. FJ-4 Fury
4 Sr.53 and SR.177 (only likely to happen if I do it myself I think)

Along with an SCB-27C Essesx for the yankee birds to fly from :jump:

Hmmmmm.
The aircraft I'd love to have seem to be in development, but are somehow on the backburner (hopefully, at least I don't know better). This is

VS C-47 (I didn't buy the JF because I thought VS would release theirs in time...still flying MAAM in the meantime)
VS B-25
Razbam SB2C

Also I have a tight watch on

WBS P-39
FR P-40N

But the one that's definitely no-where in sight and which is on top of my list would be the F4U Corsair series (early through late war models) designed with todays capabilities. Accu-sim or the like. I have the A2A Corsair, which is nice with Fligers FM but... sigh...

Cheers,

Put me down as well for an Advanced Hawkeye and Greyhound. Not Abacus quality, would love to see something with a VRS or Milviz style attention to detail and quality. Those two aircraft are sorely under represented in FSX.

1) Lockheed Orion (Single Engine Transport - Would love to see Alabeo make this)
2) Ju-88
3) He-177
4) Ki-44
5) Globe Swift including the Lorpresti Speed Merchants variant.
6) F-86H
7) Ki-61
8) XP-77 (This would be an ideal Piglet plane if he ever returns). After reading how incredibly well this plane handled in the pilot reports, it's been on the list.
9) P-26. Another one I'd like to see modeled to Alabeo modeling standards.
10)...I'll stop here, because it's too easy to keep going. :)

Virtavia has an excellent C-17, just lacking the newest additions of an FMC and their updated HUD they added for the X Plane version, otherwise, very beautiful bird. Now, wish they would update their FSX cousin to the same higher standard.

Still banging away at the T28. Done the outside but doing the interior is really slow work. Just struggling to finish supposedly simple things like the sidewalls above the consoles. Should be simple right? Until you realise that all 4 of them are different (Left hand and Right sides for front and rear cockpits) and they have all sorts of curves and bumps to accomodate things like ashtrays, spare light bulbs, airvents and the gear for the canopys. It's not very pretty at the moment so I can't show any interior shots.

Well, being a (somewhat experienced) FSX aicraft developer myself, I would be in the position to design what I'd like...rather than complaining about models I'd like to see, BUT I know how complex it is to develop a good quality plane... and it is several hundred hours. I am struggling to find the time to complete my new F-14D Tomcat, and I am still updating the F-35 and T-45 - so no new projects for a while. Therefore here is my wish list:

- Tornado IDS & ADV. We need better renditions of these planes!

- S-3 Viking, E-2 Hawkeye, C-2 Greyhound... and VRS F-18F. All carrier roles would be covered, then.

- An Aermacchi MB-326 would be nice too...

We've been fortunate lately. Some really nice iconic aircraft have been released or are in the pipeline. For instance, the new Piper Pacer and F-86. Lotus' L-39 is still a very nice jet. In the recent past we've also gotten an excellent RV-7 and an incredible Lancair. Alabeo has given us a very nice Waco and the first FSX AG plane. There are wonderful models of turboprops and big jets from Realair and PMDG. A2A has given us so many super WWII fighters and even an amazing Cub and complete early commercial aviation package, and is on the verge of giving us the first fully accu-simmed GA airplane. Anthony has given us a truly excellent ultralight in the Drifter. The Dodo's VC is aging, but its FDE is second to none, and the Aerosoft Huey is very nice. We have most of the bases covered. It's a good time to be flying FSX!

This thread offers lists of personal favorite planes. Many of them are variations on types of planes we already have. Nothing wrong with that. And I'll echo a couple that have been listed that my own tastes and their iconic status make real wish list material for me.

I would love a good (cough...Accusim...cough) DC-3. What a versatile and truly classic bird she is.
A FSX native Chipmunk would be lovely.
A Globe Swift would even be nice.

But my hanger is full of really nice aircraft as it is and I have a LOT more wonderful birds to fly than I have time to fly them. I'll take whatever truly excellent new aircraft comes along but my standards are higher than ever thanks to these wonderful aircraft. A new look is not enough. It has to be the complete package!

Having some "rump" time in the S-3A, I would love to see a high quality model for FSX. Most of my time was operating the weapons system and I'm sure that won't be modeled (but it was very cool).

The PC-21 and Legend are similar (single engine, turbine, tandem, aerobatic). I'll take the PC-21 (but if you are buying one the Legend is much more affordable).

Most of the things that were on my list last year are now reality! (RV-8; T-2B/C; A-4; Turbine Duke; F-15)

A high detail / complex system C-123k Provider and C-119 Flying Boxcar (with the gunship variant) would also be nice!
If a C-123k like that would show up I'd even make a custom, full blown Long Tieng (Laos) scenery for it, as an hommage to "Flying through midnight" by Tony Halliday.

Same goes for a C-47. I'm a huge fan of the CBI scenario and have had that on my scenery development list for a long time. If a certain C-47 would emerge I could be motivated to work out a nice CBI scenery...

I'd love to get into modelling but at the moment my hobby is painting, and it can take weeks to do a well-researched job with a good paint kit, months if you have to do a paint kit from scratch to start with. There are many important warbirds that are not represented in FSX, some hardly in FS2004. Here's my wish-list:-

F-100 (any)
Sabredog
Voodoo 1 and 2-seat
F-105 (1-seat though Razbam's Weasel will be great)
F-94C (very hard to see anyone ever doing that though!)
B-58 (David Bushell is working on an FSX upgrade of the old Alphasim one)
B-29
F-4 (arguably the most important warplane built since WWII; why it's never been done yet is beyond me...)
F-8

....and practically everything else anyone's already mentioned!!:icon_lol:

And thanks to all those developers who've already made such a huge contribution to our hobby, and kept me from boredom during the long lazy days of retirement!!:icon29:

I have 3 pages of purchases from Simmarket, Flight 1 enough .key files to confuse anyone. Spent more just on FSX addons than my first 2 cars. A dusty folder with gigs of msc scrambled planes/helis I no longer fly and only a few favorites that I fly 3/4 the time. Same with sceneries.
So what planes do I need? NONE. To be honest just about every payware Ive bought in the last few years were either impulse buys or ones that I hoped would breath life and my interest back into FSX.

What I need is something to DO with all the aircraft I already own!!! :jump:

What ever happened to Fs cargo? To be so simple I really enjoyed it. I tried the other freight prog but it never grew on me. Fspassengers was good but I no longer fly tubeliners.
If someone can come up with a unique program that would give us something to do other than A to B or pretending you are a rich guy that does nothing but fly his vintage warbirds to airshows I would be all over it.

Waiting for the VRS Tacpac so that we can arm up all our crates and have some good ole dogfights like in the old days. :jump:

I wish I still had the old Wren cartoon book from when I was a kid. Wren cartoons were used as an aid to aircraft recognition in the RAF during the war. I will always remember the Fw189 because of this...

(Hope it doesn't cause offence)

Der Fuhrer thinks of everything
We're lucky little Huns
The 189's a great machine
For foxing AA guns!!

The cartoon showed an AA shell passing between the booms!!:icon_lol:

The above were already mentioned but it don't hurt to give them love

Repetition is a good thing -- it means many of us want to see something. :) Good message to the developers out there...

Hi !

I love the EMB312 Tucano, or Neptune P2-V7, but especially the B-17 E, F or G with a civilian version to paint the plane flying over my dad's company in institut National Geographic.

Well,

I'd really love to do an S-3 if I had the time...which I do not have.
There is a reasonably-priced 3d model at Turbosquid which could be an excellent point to start from....

A Fokker D.XXI would be very nice, but will definitely enjoy all WWII warbirds which are offered.

Hey Huub...I'd settle for an HE-51 right about now!!!! :salute:

I have a question....if I put up the money to buy a model at Turbosquid......is there anyone who would be willing to take it and develope it? this is the one....only issue I see is that the fuel tanks are incorrect size.

Also...if I buy a model from turbosquid....what format should I be looking to buy?

After further thought on the matter:

1. An FSX-native Travel Air 4000.
2. An Aviat A-1C Husky.

Someone mentioned the more votes the better, so my two cents' worth on things that don't exist in FSX SP2 -- anything from naval aviation, such as:

S-3
F-8
Late-model Corsairs (-5, -7, F2G)
F-4J/F-4S
Fury (although I'd settle for a Navy color scheme on the Milviz Sabre)

In another direction, I know there's a FW-190 "Dora" in the works. Might there also be some Ta-152s? I've ported the A2A "long-nose" but a "native" would be awesome!

Cheers to all the developers out there who are still working to bring wonderful things to FSX! :applause: :salute:

The F-4 is being taken on by Flying Stations, probably be a while though given their workload, don't quote me on it but I seem to remember reading something about them doing a Whirlwind as well.

Wow, that looks good.
The format depends on what a developer work's with, in most cases GMAX (.gmax) or a 3D Studio max version (.max or .3ds) I suppose.

As far as my understanding of 3d work goes, there might be a problem with these models though. If they are very high poly designs, it is easier to develop a model from scratch rather than start to manipulate it to bring the mesh to typical FSX numbers. Your offer is really great (cheers for that!). If you have a few numbers and figures, like a poly count or if there are any animations included or whatever data on the 3d model you can bring up, please advice.

Cheers,
Mark

Seafire 47, and a modern, high speed carrier capable amphibian like the ASR I. FJ Furys. Sader. Barracuda. C-119. Wessex. Cougar. So many, but I expect we'll be in for 2x more chinooks, 2x more mustangs, 2x more F-86's, 2x more C-17's, 2x more F-15s, 2x more F-14's, more Harriers. Hey! Its time for more F-16`s Come on. Its been over a year since the aerosoft F-16! We need another! More FLANKERS too!... I am seeing a trend , dunno why everyone seems to be tackling the same half dozen projects. Oh well. Gotta go where the money is, though the pie must be getting pretty thinly sliced by now. But hey. I`m getting to the point where I can roll my own, so that may be the way to go.

Kind of messed up thing to say. But you would know since you develop quality aircraft for FSX. OH wait, that's right you don't.

Helldiver, I believe it is being worked on, just takes time. I assure you when Razbam has some info, they will post it.

I too would love to see this bird done nicely by Ron and team. Thanks for sharing your info with them, I'm certain it was greatly appreciated. Since Ron doesn't frequent here as often as he did before, have you thought about emailing him directly or asking them on their forums? I know this is a passionate request from you, as it would be from me if I served on one of these, but think you might draw more with honey than vinegar. Also, seeing they (Razbam) and many others are moving more toward DCS and their add-on's, perhaps FSX is loosing it's marketing appeal to Ron and many other developers and it's just become a lower priority to him and his team.

Anyway, thanks again for keeping the flame of desire burning for such a long time. I feel confident when it's released, you'll be given the credit due for the fidelity in detail it will have.

Maybe it is part of a plot to give you something to live for:mixedsmi:. My Dad (USN) defended the Texas coast during WWII (apparently did a good job, was never invaded). He is looking forward to a martini for his 93rd birthday tomorrow, not sure what else keeps him going...

More aircraft I would like to see in FSX in addtion to what I mentioned before (PAC 750XSTOL, Chipmunk, Alpha 2160) - Aviat Husky, Yak-3 and a new improved Realair SF-260
