Not only that, but in 1947, the US Army Air Force became the US Air ForceMy dad after serving 36 months in the Pacific (Navy) took some time off then joined the Army Air Cor. When the Air Force was formed he moved to the Air Force, he retire in Tucson in 1964 as a Veteran of 3 Wars. I have always been proud of his service.

Pacific WWII, Korea and Viet Nam, two purple hearts, 11 combat ribbons.

FYI: My mother was also a WWII Veteran, as a WAC.
