Great stuff...but why is there always a vacuum cleaner butting in when you want to hear a real aeroplane?:a1451:

More thanks than one individual could possibly make, to Glyn Powell, Jerry Yagen, and Avspecs for making all of this happen! What a great thought to process, that we now live in a world in which a DH Mosquito is flying once again (first time in 16 years). It might be surprising to some, unless you've been keeping up with it, that the aircraft has already conducted 3 test flights so-far, with both test pilots, Dave Phillips and Kieth Skilling, taking turns. It will be great to find out how many they are able to fit in today, before the up-coming big event. The cowls are reported to now be completely painted.

This air-to-air photo was taken yesterday (it looks right at home in the sky): http://www.network54.com/Forum/149674/message/1348750160/First+air-to-air+shot+of+the+Mossie+from+yesterday%27s+maiden+f light+%28pic%2C+hopefully%29

There are a few videos now on Youtube from the aircraft's test flights yesterday. I however also enjoyed this one, from earlier in the week, which was filmed in the cockpit while the aircraft was having some ground runs (it goes to show just how small the cockpit is): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HgxTD1DULKU

I'll have to get the AH Mosquito out of the cyber hanger and crank her up for a few flights now.

Some beautiful photos starting to come in from today's flying - cowls/aircraft now completely painted and looking exquisite. Even in photos, the sight is too incredible to fully describe - I can only begin to imagine what it must be like for those who have now been lucky enough to see it first-hand.

Yes! Thanks to you for going early and pointing me to the right spot.
A Merlin is pretty loud... two of them are more than TWICE as loud!
A rare privilege, and an experience never to be forgotten.

If you have a subwoofer, turn up the music.
Loud.
Enjoy:

I was lucky enough to go to the airshow today, here are some pics that i took on top of a Wheelie bin :) Somethings that we saw will never happen again, who would have thought one day a vampire will fly along side a mozzie or a mozzie leading a herd of warbirds and shrieking across the sky.
