I remember that there was a way to stop the main rotor blades after cutting off the power to helos in FSX. I am using the freeware S55 from Apphasim and
when I cut the power, it seem like the rotor blades will keep spinning and spinning. I seem to remember something about cycle the joystick power lever to low and
pressing the SHIFT + F1 key or something like that. Anyway, I am trying to remember how to make the blades come to a complete stop after shutting down.

Hi richoday,

Shift + B is the default 'Rotor Brake' key command.

I haven't tested this so I'm not sure how effective it is...

Here's a useful little one page pdf of FSX key commands - thanks to Mutleys Hangar.

Just another issue with all of the FS series not liking helos. The rotorbrake command doesn't work to my knowledge and the only way to slow the rotors is to slowly increase collective (power lever) until they stop after shutdown.

I've seen some developer's rotor blades (and props) spin down for what seems like forever. I even painted some of them.
