Hi All:

This is to let you know that I have just up loaded to 2004 add-ons six versions of the F9F Cougar.

The Grumman Cougar package contains four versions of the single seat aircraft the F9F-6, F9F-6P, F9f-8, and F9F-8P. It also contains an armed and unarmed versions of the F9F-8T Trainer aircraft.

There is one texture for each aircraft because of my limited texture knowledge it is only a basic Navy texture no squadron markings. I asked three different people to do the textures for the Cougars but for one reason or another they decided not to do them. So if there is anyone who would like to do some addon textures for the Cougars please do so.

I hope you like the Cougars and enjoy flying them.

Thanks! I've been waiting on a decent Cougar for a long time!

These jets really are a blast to fly, especially at low levels. Very easy to rip along at treetop level and follow the terrain manually as they respond predictably to controller inputs. Very impressive, and FUN!! :jump::mixedsmi::medals:

:salute: Thanks David! :salute:

Dave, thanks a lot, this is a great assortment. :salute: After Ito-san released his Cougar I asked him if he could do a photo version and he politely declined. This was back when his eyesight was still in bad shape. I'm glad you've included the -8P photo bird in this bunch, my old squadron VFP-63 used to fly them in the late 50's/early 60's. I'll try to come up some paint jobs, with the photo bird for starters.

I think a bit of patience maybe required for the admins to release it, they are really busy... (So we're told).
The singular of "Cougar" only shows the older repaints for Ito's (2008) model. They are not bad either, though! :-)

I just downloaded the new Courgar pak and the first one, the F model has just a black rectangle when I click the radio icon. All the rest work ok and the only differance I could findd in the panel config was the first model had size_mm=207,520 while all the rest are 355 ( I think) so I changed it to match the others but same black rectangel. This is for the first single seat version F model.
There was one other that had a difference but I remember it wasn't a great differance ,one of the Courgars has an extra black box under the main radio stack and that could be the one, but thats no biggy.
It's hard to tell which plane is which cause their not designated the same in the sim as in the main files
Any ideas how to fix this?

Sorry about the problem.

To fix this problem go to the F9F-6 panel.cfg file:

remove the following

[Window01]
file=radio background.BMP
size_mm=207,520
position=6
visible=0
ident=RADIO_STACK_PANEL
gauge00=DW AVIONICS!Audio panel, 0,0,207,75
gauge01=DW AVIONICS!com nav 1, 0,73,207,65
gauge02=DW AVIONICS!com nav 2, 0,136,207,65
gauge03=DW AVIONICS!ADF Radio, 0,199,207,75
gauge04=DW AVIONICS!XPNDR, 0,272,207,75
gauge05=DW AVIONICS!dme, 0,345,207,75
gauge06=DW AVIONICS!Autopilot, 0,417,205,80

and add the following

[Window01]
file=radio background.BMP
size_mm=207,355
position=6
visible=0
ident=RADIO_STACK_PANEL
gauge00=Cougar Gauges!Audio panel, 0,0,207,75
gauge01=Cougar Gauges!com nav 1, 0,76,207,65
gauge02=Cougar Gauges!com nav 2, 0,142,207,65
gauge03=Cougar Gauges!ADF Radio, 0,208,207,75
gauge04=Cougar Gauges!XPNDR, 0,284,207,75

this should correct the problem

Took the Cougar up for a spin around Pensacola and while I was at chased a DC-3 around a bit. I love it, but I do think there's a little room for some improvements.
