After a long break this week I got back into working on this...

I've installed the brake system, and I reworked the paint on the fuselage. The switch locations on the instrument panel are still being worked on.

I think I have got a final layout of the switches, and that has allowed me to add some labels. I also made a digital pitch trim indicator. After much debate I've decided this one will be limited to flying during the day.

Looks real nice !
In the virtual cockpit, I think you should modify the carpet texture to paint some "shadow" where the pilot feet are supposed to go. In your shots, this area is too clear, it should be darker (ambient occlusion).

EDIT: I have edited one of your screenshots to show what I was trying to say :)

I have to fake it with the texture, and I'm not as good as some when it comes to art. This is a Gmax model, and I cannot bake textures to get effects like ambient occlusion. Here's a very quick mod to try my hand at it...

Maybe some nice deep pile carpet so you could kick off your shoes, wiggle your toes in it and fly bare footed. Or Astro Turf! :icon29:

The cockpit looks already much better, don't you think ? This darker zone gives a "volume" impression, which tells the eyes that this piece of carpet is actually under the panel. The comparison with your previous VC shot is quite explicit, it's much better with this little shadow that you did. :applause:

I have modified the stick, installed a fuel valve, and I spent most of the weekend on the flight model. I have some people testing things for me, and I'm waiting for the feedback. It's getting close to the finish line. :jump:

While it is certainly not a new thing...I decided to figure out how to put all of the bits that can be toggled onto a pop-up panel. It's not totally finished, but you get the idea. It's been a long time since I coded a 2-d gauge! :icon_lol:

Now that it's getting a bit closer, I looked into the airplane some and found out the current company is just south of me in Weatherford. . .not all that far really (about 25mi west of Ft Worth). "The closest thing to a Witches Broomstick". . . .should be fun to fly!!:salute:

I have alway like the IMP, in fact I have some of the first articles from the early 70's about the palne, I will get this one for sure.

One of the last "big" projects was finishing off the GPS. Note that there is lighting on it. It has been done such that the components can be used by other modelers when I make the files available. The Imp is not going to be equipped for night operations.
