Can some of our talented scenery designers please tell us their preferred European texture packs. Stiz FS2004 Euro, Stiz World, Comtex, Pactex...??

Morton,

For a Euro install I'd go with Stiz or Sander's beta textures.

Check your e-mail, I just responded. :jump:

Hi Morton,
I hope I can help, I have tried and testflown all texture packs ever released.
The first real convincing was Milan Lisner´s set. But there are mainly two I can recommend from todays view:

On one hand you have Stiz textures for the whole world.
You can get them here at the outhouse.
For these, you should also get the new edges-set which allows them to blend into each other much better. (These new files follow the streets and such to see on Stiz textures, which are different from the default CFS2 textures)
- I don`t know the author anymore. He forgot to put his name in the readme. Mayb someone can help here? -

And then we have Sanders EUR-W texture set, which is available on his site (under the Stalingrad Landclass files)

http://combatfs.homeip.net/cfs2coast/default.aspx

I personally use this texture set.

Didn't Simonu make a edge fold mask for Stitx's Euro textures? Found here; http://www.sim-outhouse.com/index.php?lloc=downloads&loc=downloads&page=info&FileID=9514

Good point Fibber. Thats one of the reason I like this Sim and this comunitty so much. Not only do we have very nice people in this forum but we also have plenty of choices as well. :friday:

Morton,

I've been using Sander's land class, coasts and textues for the most part, but for up in Norway I've been using the Comtex textures that Miami provided the link for. They seem to portray the dark forests for Norway very well, at least I think they do. I've got to get up there in person someday.

For water I've been using a combination of Stitz's and Egypt's water textures. There are textures for the North Sea, Europe (muddy water) and for the MTO that all look pretty good in their specific settings.

Simonu!
That is probably the one, I will add it to my readme of the file.

No matter which texture set you use, make sure to take Sanders landclass to have towns were towns are and forrests were forrests should be.
