French Navy prototype Jaguar M, intended for its naval aeronautics and modified to operate from an aircraft carrier. It made its first flight on November 14th, 1969 and made several trial campaigns: deck landings feigned on runway in Nimes, tests on a catapult on the ground in the United Kingdom, then offshore tries from the aircraft carrier Clemenceau. This version is however given up at the beginning of 1973. On one hand the Jaguar turned out sub-motorized, on the other hand it would have been necessary to strengthen catapults and deck of the aircraft carrier which generated obviously a high additional cost.

The SPAD S.VII is a French biplane used during the First World War. It was the first one of a series of hunter (fighter) biplanes, made by the SPAD. As its successors, the SVII was recognized as a solid and strong device. Rene Fonck is a "must have" French and allied by the First World war with 75 victories. The last quotation of Fonck states 75 victories confirmed as well as 69 others? Total 144.

Sadly not what it says on the tin; it is the French Jaguar model from Alphasim with a Marine repaint, not a proper rendition of the Jaguar Marine (which was a very different beast, and one I doubt we will ever see in Flightsim).

Yep. The Jaguar M had a shorter vertical tail, a different nose and different maingear with straight legs and single wheels. Interestingly, sources I have read say that the Jaguar M out-performed the Etendard in almost every way imaginable but was not chosen for political reasons.

And the SPAD is a repaint of Stuart Green's classic model. Sadly on both aircraft the uploader gives no credit whatsoever to the original creators..

Don't know how much truth there is to this but I remember an anecdote about the "official" reason the Jag M was not pursued for naval operations being due to poor performance on approach to the ship in the event of an engine loss.... obviously the SuE handles engine loss on approach to a carrier far better than the Jag ever could have :icon_lol:
