Hey All,

Penske to Ford in 2013... :angryfir::angryfir::angryfir:

http://www.nascar.com/news/120302/bkeselowski-penske-dodge-to-ford/index.html

My beloved Dodge announcing a new car next week and Penske jumps ships. I wonder what Dodge plans are? I sure hope they have some...

Seems to be based on sound business practice Ed.
"Keselowski admitted that he had no dissatisfaction with Dodge as his team's manufacturer. Although the two Penske Racing teams were the only ones in the Sprint Cup garage left running Dodges at the end of 2010, team owner Roger Penske had for two years touted his belief that his organisation was in an advantageous situation -- not the other way around.
Penske abruptly changed his tune with Wednesday's announcement, saying he felt his teams needed to be aligned with others who run the same types of cars to reach their full potential going forward."
Perhaps 'The Captain' is thinking outside the square, unless Dodge have a clear advantage over the other teams [apparently not] it makes sense to get where there is a pool of knowledge available instead of a small puddle.
And really, when all is said and done the manufacturers are pretty much just engine suppliers.

Penske developed and built his own Dodge engines. So Dodge will either buy into some smaller teams or back out again.

:kilroy:There is nothing Ford Chevy or Dodge in any of the motors not even the blocks.

Not true, the manufacturers do make the blocks and heads after which the teams modify the hell out of them.
