The Bf109B Berta and Bf109D Dora were early variants of the BF109. Both were used in the Spanish civil war. The Dora was the standard version of the Bf 109 in service with the Luftwaffe during the period just before World War Two. Despite this, the type saw only limited service during the war, as all of the 235 Doras still in service at the beginning of the Polish campaign were rapidly taken out of service and replaced by the Bf 109E, except in some Nachtjager (night fighter) units, where some examples were used into early 1940. You get both variants. Gmax model by A.F. Scrub.

Can't have too many 109's!

Thanks for the HU!

Cees

Edit: the prop tex is for a 3-bladed prop and the panel.cfg can perhaps be be improved, but it's a B-D and I like it!

I think it's an original. Did a small alteration to the VC. Loks a bit more like a B-D now.

There are/were very old versions for CFS2 (IS4G I think), might even be in the library here; not sure they even worked in FS2002, let alone FS9. I've no idea if this a a brand new production, or whether Scrubbie managed to get hold of the source files on the earlier model. Whatever, it is very welcome.

This one has a serious case of the bounces, largely because the contact points are so far off they make Itosan's look state of the art. Milton has put a fix in the other thread (as linked above).

There are a few adapted files in the other thread for a more B-D looking cockpit and a two bladed prop.

Thank you very much A.F. Scrub for Berta and Dora, and thank you Cees and Milton for the mods. I have always wanted an early model (pre-war) variant of the Bf109 for FS2004 and now we have one! :applause:
Now does anyone know where one can get sounds for this magnificent beast?
Preliminary research implies they were powered by a Jumo 210, kind of like a R-R Kestrel but inverted.
I cobbled together a soundfile from the Stuka (thanks Lawdog!) and took out the siren sound but then found that the Jumo 211 that the Stuka used was a much bigger engine. Granted, it sounds right, but if someone came up with a proper Jumo 210 sound I'd feel a lot better about it.
