38 bucks... oooh an increase... hopefully that means increase of quality.

Anyone buy it yet? edit: it integrates with GNS430W from RXP... Also how is the radiostack night lighting? On previous releases it was nearly impossible to read the labels on the avionics stack.

I want it and I will get but it will have to be a while. With Aerosoft releasing the Bronco and A2A the simmed P-40 my supply of monthly simbucks allocated by the wife has been used up.
Unless of course she finds another pocketbook or pair of shoes then I can use the ole "but honey you got such and such".

Well I bought it... here's some shots with power off... gotta read the manuals now... First glance: it looks amazing

Nice screenshots. Any frame rate issues with the glass, or is it too early to tell yet?

I think I'm going to pull the trigger on this one but it'll be a few days.

I feel like a hyprocrit, because I used to get upset when people said stuff like the Mustang didn't hit systems... At the time it was because I was on old hardware and I could see a hit. Well as you can see in my sig I'm on very high end hardware. It's locked at 30 fps at my default airport (rural airport in MN). It feels smooth but initially the plane takes a while to load when you select it via the menu. At least 10 seconds or so. The MFD portion of the G500 is simply an overlay of the default GPS500.. but it looks fine. There is a weather radar. We all know that it's not actually detecting rain but clouds hehe... still it looks cool.

So far I've found one annoying bug when using the RXP GNS430W only. Their stock gps's buttons don't work (the one on top of the RXP 430). So I can't change frequencies and I think they programmed it so with the RXP 430 or 530 only you get only one comm and nav frequency. I'd imagine if I bought the 530W they'd both work fine... But there's another 50 bucks hehe.

Also I'm trying to lower the brightness of the unit via the MFD AUX page but I cannot access the options... the manual isn't very clear about it. At the moment the G500 PFD gets washed out like other glass addons when the sun is behind you. Also at 1x zoom it's tough to read some of the labels... but this is normal for glass panel addons...

I am one of those whos computer really hates any kind of glass cockpit. CRT screens just suck my performance right out of it. Same with most decent huds. Its not just my latest computer but even the last one chugged along with early FSX planes that used screens. In real life I have seen a few of these and this one of the the most attractive and sexy planes on the ramp. Just looking at that pit though had my system choke.

Same here. I don't know how Carenado did it but even with all screens maps and wx radar on I have almost no framerate hit with the JetPROP.
I returned the F1 Mustang because on my PC the performance with the glass cockpit was simply not acceptable.
The 'worst' Carenado aircraft on my PC is the A36 with the partial glass cockpit at 43-45fps.
I have the frames locked at 60 and the JetPROP is between 55-59.

Wow - the VC is so good i can almost smell the cockpit from the times i flew in one a few times from Bournemouth

Well done Carenado :salute::applause:

With all that glass, I can understand the price bump. As always, Carenado did an amazing job!

Do you have the clickspot issue when activating RXPGNS430? I've only got their 430 so I used the default GPS530 on top and none of the softkeys work. If I deactivate the RXP unit the clickspot function comes back. I figured you looked at the rest of the plane since you did the fde.

1. I don't know what a RXPGNS430 is. sound like an additional add-on. I don't use a GPS at all. I just turn it on to see the impact on the frame rate.
2. ?? I'm not a beta tester and not an avionics guy. I do check the things that are related to basic aircraft operation and that's it.
I haven't even got the release version before they released the jetPROP and hence I don't even know if they fixed the bugs I mentioned in the final beta.

It's the Reality XP GNS430 Waas. It uses a much more up to date database than FSX stock GPS and functions nearly identical to the real one... it is a payware addon - highly recommended:

No problem...

Unfortunately the number of issues I'm having is outweighing the positives at the moment..

This thing is not fully capable... here's why:

(Bugs)
1) Can't operate stec XPNDR - no functions work, no flight timer, zeros don't display, ie if you enter code 0301 you see 301.. not correct.
2) Can't select ADF frequency (knob doesn't work, only the power knob does)
3) With RXP GNS430 enabled, most of the default gps buttons don't work (carenado is looking into it)
4) With above installed, the only way to see the filed flight plan is to export into windows explorer, then load via in-game menu (pauses sim - can't have that while on vatsim)
5) Autopilot S turns while trying to intercept localizer and takes at least one complete S to join.

(Wishes)
1) No DME...important for dme arcs because it shows a trend, rather than entering the vor into the GPS.

I'm attempting to get a refund until they start testing their products.

Ryan

Would you mind to have a look in the panel.cfg and tell me wether there are gauges in (gauge00=.......,100,20,90,90) or just few with last size entrys like 1,1

Why this question.this tells how many gauges are modelled diectly into the VC model(faster FPS) or gauges(slower). On the A36 the PFD and MFG is a gauge.

I would like to know ahead of purchase

Thanks

Roland

or PM me (copy paste) the VC sections(from [VCockpit01]-->all down
Thanks

I believe they're all 3d gauges so you can't add your own.

I'm not big into the airport to airport flying aspect of this hobby, but I can understand if those of us are want everything to fuction. Myself I'm a VFR only flyer......I love the plane to death and any changes or updates will be welcome but won't prevent me from continuing to buy their aircraft.

My ex now says to me "to each is their own".....guess that holds true here too.

I bought it on Friday night and I'm loving it so far. I've learned to wait a week or two before picking up Carenado planes since they have the public do their beta testing. :mixedsmi:

My only complaint is that the G500 doesn't pick up on the flight plan I punch in on the RXP GNS 530. Oh I guess that isn't my only complaint. The soundset does not use FSX 3D cones. Pretty lame for 37 USD.

The visuals and flight model are outstanding though. Thank you Mr. Stolle. Your talents have improved Carenado's products exponentially. :salute:
