Hi All

It would be negative to list what i considered the worst payware aircraft were in 2011 but I would like to thank the devs who produced the following. No particular order.

Wilco/Feelthere for the Phenom.
Nemeth for the AS350.
IRIS for the Silence Twister and the Spartan
Vstudios for the Vans RV-8C
era for the Bell 222.A
2A for the Accusim Spitfire.
Warbirdsim for the latest (pack 4?) P51-D Mustang.A
labeo for the Pitts.
Sibwings for their Pitts.
Milviz for the A109 Power and F15.
Carenado for the Centurion, C337, Baron, Rockwell Commander, A36, and C330.Captain Sim for the 737.
Aerosoft Bronco and PZL-104 Wilga

I think that i have listed everything produced in 2011.There must be at least 7 other products that i have just dumped off my PC that i purchased last year that just did not compare to these.Does anyone else want to list their "best of 2011?" Please play fair by keeping it to ones that were actually launched last year.

Lets praise the devs :applause::applause::applause:

Easily the best of the year for me was the A2A Simulations Accusim Spitfire, just a joy to fly well.

Exceedingly nice is the Baytower Vans RV-7

and then the Iris Silence Twister

add to that the Aerosoft H-36 Dimona X

It's been a good year for payware, and I've added way more than I had planned. But with all the various sales I only bought a few at full price!

Some highlights for me this year:

A2A Spitfire with Accusim

Real Air Turbine Duke

Classic Hangars Bf-108 Taifun

Bear Studios J-10 Vigorous Dragon

Iris C-27J Spartan

Aerosoft OV-10 Bronco

Good choice.

I also forgot the FSAddon Storch.

I see they have put an interesting video up.

I don't know if that was directed at me or not, but since it was right after my post, and didn't say who it was for I'll assume it was me. Anyway, I didn't purchase the T-38, so it wasn't on my list.:salute:

Pretty sure anything else I bought last year predates a 2011 release.

The PMDG NGX is arguably a more detailed and higher fidelity simulation than any of the products mentioned in this thread. It just doesn't get any love here because this is a mil site.

Favorite is one thing, but "Best" is another. The "best" award could only go to one of two planes, the A2A Spitfire or PMDG NGX. Both of them have raised the bar more than almost any FS addon ever made.

That being said, 2011 was definitely a good year for addons. Many developers have really stepped up to the plate. I give Carenado the "Most Improved Award". Between the 3D gauges, RXP integration, and Bernt Stolle's FDE's, their products have increased in quality exponentially.

It will be interesting seeing what happens in 2012 with X-Plane and Flight.

There were only a couple of planes that were on my 'must have' list in 2011, but the A2A Spitfire and PMDG 737 NGX were top of that list and neither disappointed.

My two favorites were
Aerosoft DA-20 Katana: the sound of the stall horn is nostalgic for me (trained on DA-20-C1)
Flight1 T182T: the G1000 simulation feels right (I fly a C172SP with G1000 recurringly)

My Top 5 Ships cover a nice spectrum, and most of them were released in '11, but some were new purchases to me discovered in 2011.

No particular order; I am incredibly impressed with my most recent: The Flight Replicas Super Cub Bush Pack. Just an amazing tundra tire bird. :)

1.Flight Replicas Super Cub Tundra 150 (best low and slow flyer ever)

2.Iris A-10A Warthog (one of the most beautiful military ships I've always loved)

3.Carenado's V35B Bonanza (always loved those V-tails since bein' a kid)

4.Carenado's Cessna 340II (always loved those sexy twin Cessnas)

5.Hughes H-1B Racer (don't fly it as much as I should, but loved the movie ;))

6.Baytower Van's RV-7 (just love that little thing)

Cool thread. :ernae:

Me and my buddy doing some form flying up in Alaska. :)

OV-10, OV-10, OV-10! Way to go Aerosoft. Most immersive flight sim aircraft I own, stellar VC. Really get the sensation of flying better than any other aircraft in my library.

I also like the B-52 from Captain Sim. Visually beautiful.
