Reminds me of night FCLP (Field Carrier Landing Practice) sessions at NAS (now MCAS) Miramar back in the day. F-8's and F-4's (F-14's later on) bouncing on the field well into the late evening, afterburners blasting. You get used to it.

:salute::salute: I was crewchief on "A" model C-5's and was Engine Run qualified. I have heard those TF39-GE-1's briefly(headset lifted form 1 ear(1-3 secs) during an engine run at TRT(take-off rated thrust) hoping the brakes weren't going to fail while i was out front...I'm sure i'll catch grief from the SAC/bomber people-but i myself think the TF39's are far louder than the BUFF's 8 TF33's....WE made noise with style....thanks John

Back in the 80's our unit was tasked to install an antenna at Warner-Robbins AFB, Georgia. The antenna site was right next to an F-15 engine test stand. That noise and the heat and the little nats flying in your face all day made for a very miserable TDY. The night life around the base was equally miserable unfortunately.
