Good luck with this one, while Ive been amazed at some of the salvages Ive read about and how it was accomplished this seems far fetched at best. They have no idea of its condition at this point after being on fire, rammed and shot to crap with 20mm and finally 18,000ft down with no pictures or idea where is actually is. This would be a feat of epic proportions to get anyone to cough up 8 million just to look for it and then possibly salvage it.

"On what would become its final flight, when the starboard engines quit, the Honolulu Clipper had 13 Navy officers aboard who were being flown back to San Francisco.

Since a plane of its size drifting aimlessly on the ocean was considered a hazard to navigation, a decision was made to sink it. After having flown 18,000 hours and countless passengers, and opening new possibilities in the world of aviation, the Clipper submitted to 1,300 20-mm explosive shells and sank."

That's $3076.92/bullet hole to raise just the one in the South Pacific. LOL A great piece of history, but kind of expensive to raise and restore I'd say.

With that number of 20mm explosive shells hit, they´re going to recover a dang cheese from down there..

But look on the bright side....all those holes will make it easy to thread the lifting straps through the fuselage!
